Whether traveling for your destination wedding or honeymoon, you’re going to want to capture tender and sentimental moments in photos. Now, a new service allows you to capture memories without being stuck behind the camera lens yourself. Flytographer is a company that connects travelers with over 230 local photographers in 150 destinations around the world. You can coordinate candid photo shoots to help capture your honeymoon or destination wedding experience. Flytographer was founded on the belief that memories are the best travel souvenirs and we couldn’t agree more!
Founded by former Microsoft Marketing Manager Nicole Smith, Flytographer now offers photographers on every continent except Antarctica. Whether you’re visiting Reykjavik or Shanghai, there’s likely a local Flytographer whom cannot only help capture your trip’s memories, but also recommend local must-see spots. “Flytographer’s unique concept of connecting travelers with locals to capture memories through photography marries the growing trend of people seeking authentic local experiences with the importance of preserving memories, versus buying more ‘stuff’ when traveling,” says founder Nicole Smith.
Booking a Flytographer is easy and you can do it all through the company’s website. Find your chosen destination and you can then browse photographers and their portfolios. Having issues? Just contact the site’s “shoot concierge” with any questions. Once you’ve booked your shoot and selected your photographer, you’ll receive a “shoot scoop” which will outline logistics, including the meeting place and your photographer’s headshot. After meeting your chosen photographer for candid, documentary-style photos, you’ll receive a link to download high-resolution images within a few days.
Packages range from $250-$500, depending on your destination and photographer, and shoots last up to 90 minutes. All of the photographers working with Flytographer have been pre-vetted based on skill, style and personality. If you’re wanting to propose during an upcoming getaway, Flytographer is also a great way to capture a surprise proposal.
