Styling build-up can ruin any good hair day. Between dry shampooing, chemically treating your hair and all the styling products we use to try and get the perfect blow-out, our hair may need a little TLC post W-Day.

Unwash offers two products to right the wrongs we (and many good-intentioned stylists) have done to our hair. Unwash Anti-Residue Rinse (to remove build-up) and Unwash Hydrating Masque (to help restore silk, shine and flexibility) are a perfect solution. I tried both and am truly a believer.

The Unwash Anti-Residue Rinse foamed up on my hair like a rabid animal. The foaming action was so thick and dense; I was convinced something had to be working! When I rinsed it from my hair, my strands felt squeaky clean, but dry. Which begs the use of the Hydrating Masque. I used that next and followed the instructions to a tee, leaving it on for several minutes before rinsing it out. Once I did rinse it out, my hair felt restored as if I had just gotten a moisturizing treatment from my professional stylist.

I would not recommend only using the Anti-Residue Rinse ($32) alone, it really does seem to work best when paired with the Hydrating Masque ($34).  The two products didn’t bother the hue of my color-treated hair, so it does seem safe to use on those who dye their hair regularly. I would also not recommend using this product daily –  it seems a weekly treatment is all that’s needed. Now go on newlyweds and unwash that post W-Day hair!
