If you desire to wed in a beautiful place where family and friends can come together in a once-in-a-lifetime type of celebration, then you might be like Jessica and Kevin. Knowing that planning a destination by themselves would be no easy feat, the couple vowed to keep an open mind throughout the process (especially since they’d be saying “I do” in such unprecedented times).
“I was researching beautiful wedding venues in Rancho Palos Verdes and La Venta Inn caught my eye. I wasn’t sure if they were open at the time (due to Covid) and was reading reviews that they may have closed, but I submitted an inquiry anyway.”
The bride was surprised and excited when the venue reached out to inform her that they were available and open to host their wedding on the exact date the couple requested! The relief of securing a stunning venue propelled Jessica and Kevin’s plans forward and opened up the opportunity to focus on the details.
“All of our party favors were hand-crafted – it consisted of a delicately laser-trimmed paper box with a ‘cinderella carriage’ as a symbol of our happy ever after,” Jessica says. “In the box, we placed a mixture of Hershey’s hugs and kisses and sealed the deal with a pink and gold ribbon and a flower intertwined. We printed our names and our wedding date on a small circular pink paper and tied that with a gold string to the box.”
While the details added color to the day, it was the view at La Venta Inn that really wowed every guest (the couple included).
“I definitely spent more money choosing a destination wedding,” the bride says, “but I felt like it was well worth the extra spend because I knew that our special day was happening at a beautiful location, and all our close family and friends could experience that with us. Plus, it helped with getting amazing wedding pictures!”
Ultimately, Kevin and Jessica tell us that massive attribution to the success of the day came from the couple’s ability to be flexible and understanding of how things unfold in the planning process.
“We had the unfortunate experience of having to postpone our wedding multiple times due to COVID, and I can say that our wedding was completely different from how I originally envisioned it to be,” Jessica says. “But, it turned out even better than I could have ever imagined, and it was magical nevertheless.”
