The process of getting engaged is different for every couple. If you know the day is coming when your loved one is going to ask the question – help them be prepared and choose an engagement ring you’re going to love! Scout Mandolin is a luxury, fine jewelry brand which specializes in custom, one-of-a-kind engagement rings and has an innovative process perfect for ensuring you get the ring of your dreams! Scout Mandolin’s steps for creating your own engagement ring takes the guesswork out of the process for your partner, while maintaining the element of surprise for you!

Here are the unique steps Scout Mandolin couples go through to create a one-of-a-kind ring:
Create Your Profile:
Upload images or drawings from your computer. Insert a link to your Pinterest page and tell us all about what your dream ring is. We will save it, so you can make changes at anytime. Just tell your significant other to contact us. If it's a surprise and the recipient isn't involved, you can create an account and fill in as much information as you can. We are confident that we can scout out what your favorite person's dream ring is.
Select Your Diamond or Gemstone:
You will get to choose the diamond or center stone that will be used in your custom ring. We don’t keep inventory on hand so we have no need to sell any particular gemstone, which eliminates pressure for our customers. We meet with multiple diamond dealers or semi-precious stone dealers to find the very best of the best.
Design Your Ring:
All of our designs are custom, one-of-a-kind pieces tailored for you or your special someone. Once we review all of your ideas, drawings and images we will provide a detailed sketch of the basic concept. At this point you will receive an estimate catered to your budget so there will be no surprises.
3-D CAD Model:
Once you approve the design we will make a 3-D computerized CAD model, which displays multi-angled renderings of your piece, using the exact dimensions of your diamond or gemstones. You will be able to make any final changes before we cast in your choice of metal.
Approval & Finished Piece:
Upon your final approval, we will move forward with the 3-D wax printing of your piece. Our team will then cast your design in the precious metal of your choice. Our master diamond setters and bench jewelers will meticulously set each stone, laser assemble, and polish your new heirloom to a pristine finish.
Scout Mandolin’s founder, Julie Simpson, has more than 10 years experience in the diamond and jewelry business and set-out to start her own design company with a very specific vision in mind. “My passion as a custom jewelry designer is in the search – the search for who he or she is, what makes my client unique and in the art of expressing their true love’s story in my design,” says Simpson. “I absolutely love the discovery process.” Scout Mandolin also cuts out the retail middleman in the jewelry design process to eliminate the markup in retail stores. Also, all Scout Mandolin diamonds and stones originate from ethical and environmentally responsible sources.
