As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) is giving away 200 designer dresses to brides in need. While supplies last, brides can select a dress on their website, share her story on why she needs it for free and simply pay shipping and handling. Originally retailing up to $2,000, brides will pay just $59. “We are pleased to help women in financial need for their special wedding day, while also bringing awareness to breast cancer,” says BABC’s CEO Drew Edwards.

While generating awareness for breast cancer, BABC's mission is to provide affordable wedding dresses and share profits with breast cancer charities nationwide. “We pride ourselves in making amazing wedding dresses accessible to many women and we’re happy to honor 200 brides in need,” adds BABC’s COO Rod Mackenzie. Since 1997, BABC has helped more than 50,000 women purchase affordable wedding dresses and raised millions of dollars for breast cancer causes.
Dresses are sold three ways – via its web store, its travelling “Wedding Dress ExperienceTM" shows (next shows are in Orlando, Tampa and Atlanta), and its Atlanta flagship retail store. “BABC is innovative in how it conducts business and also in how it gives back to causes and brides. We’re proud to have a partnership with Brides Against Breast Cancer,” says Sheryl Cherico, President of the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund charity.
BABC sells off-the-rack designer wedding dresses at up to 80% off retail. Dresses are new, samples or certified pre-owned and retail for $99 to $999 with couture dresses up to $2,999. The average retail price is just $600 versus $1700 for a new dress. Designer wedding dresses are donated from caring bridal salons and individuals who want to support breast cancer charities nationwide, while also receiving a charity tax write-off.
