Our New Summer 2014 Issue!Words by Courtney Kellar
Hard to believe, but it’s that time again! Time for another beautiful Destination I Do cover launch! Our Spring/Summer 2014 issue first hit newsstands back in February and now our summer cover launches today! It features one of our real wedding couples canoodling on the beach near their Santa Barbara reception location. Her wedding gown is from Allure Bridals and his suit is from Vacano Tailor Made Suits. Luckily for DID and our wonderful readers, we’ve had the opportunity this issue to collaborate with some of the wedding industry’s biggest hitters including Randy Fenoli, star of TLC’S “Say ‘Yes’ to the Dress” and “Randy to the Rescue,” who weighs-in on Dressing the Destination Bride for our Ask The Expert section.
Our Fashion Forward section was also put together thanks to a fabulous team including, to name a few, design by Kristy Rice with Momental Designs, photography by With Love and Embers and a breathtaking backdrop of the historic Biltmore Mansion in North Carolina. Our Spring cover offers a preview of this ode to romanticism – Downton Abbey fans eat your hearts out!
Aside from our breathtaking Honeymoon Hideaways (think a tour of the Mediterranean by sea), this issue also features destinations for any destination wedding or honeymoon couple. Leave your passport at home with our U.S. Destinations with a Foreign Feel, or pack your chicest cowboy boots for our Rugged Retreats. You can also get the inside scoop on hosting a classic American event in one of several Southern Charms.
While a dream destination wedding or honeymoon is certainly attainable, it will take a little bit of work to get there! To ensure you look your best, check out our latest To Have & To Hold feature which includes Dramatic Beauty Transformations. Once you’re looking fresh, it’s time to tackle the tough questions – how to handle money. This is an issue every wedding couple will encounter, so learn how to handle tricky money situations with our Financing Frustrations article.
Perhaps you’ve got all your ducks in a row – you’ve found the right mate, your dream destination wedding location and the honeymoon spot of your dreams… but there’s always time for real wedding inspiration! A constant crowd favorite, we arguably save the best for last with our Real Weddings. From a lakefront soiree in Michigan, a sweet backyard bash in Santa Barbara and a bold Costa Rica event, to a colorful Yosemite backdrop, the chic island of Malta, a customized party in Costa Rica and a classic, lovely wedding in Florida – we hope these real weddings feature something which gets your heart racing and mind thinking!
