The Nines

The term ‘dressed to the nines’ indicates the epitome of style and taste. The Nines hotel is just that and is situated on the upper nine floors of the landmark Meier & Frank Building in the heart of downtown Portland. For couples who desire an upscale, urban setting in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, The Nines is the destination to consider.
This award-winning, eco-conscious hotel opened in October 2008 as part of the Starwood Hotels Luxury Collection. Careful attention was paid to design and décor resulting in a soaring seven-story atrium centered in the heart of the building, original art work commissioned from local artists, a majestic staircase winding down from the eighth floor to the ballroom level and elegant Murano glass chandeliers in the ballroom.
Dining at The Nines is another experience which offers extraordinary options. The Urban Farmer, located next to the eighth floor atrium, provides a menu from morning until night with culinary experiences which are farm-fresh and utterly delicious. Everything is organic, homemade and comes directly from local growers.
The Nines’ other unique dining experience is Departure. This rooftop restaurant offers upscale Asian cuisine, innovative cocktails and sake, with panoramic views from the heart of downtown Portland to the surrounding bridges, rivers and mountains. Two outdoor patios, teak decking and a nautical motif enhance this evening dining destination and might be an option for one of your smaller wedding gatherings. It is a hub of excitement for nightlife in the center of the city.
Since the location is in the heart of town overlooking Pioneer Square, shopping options are plentiful. Pedi-cabs can take the tourist-minded guests to the local breweries, sports events or sightseeing.
The Nines is the perfect venue for the couple who desires an urban feel with proximity to Oregon’s lush wine country. The famed Willamette Valley is a short car ride away and many wineries dot the verdant hills with tasting experiences for you and your guests.
Just as in the world of fashion, the term ‘the nines’ indicates quality and class and you’ll get just that with this chic hotel in the heart of Portland.
