While you are planning your destination wedding from home, we figured what could be better than some gorgeous Tuscan inspiration for you? Feast your eyes not only this stunning destination, but on the alfresco chic style of an Italian fairy tale.

This bright and cheerful photo shoot was captured at Borgo Pignano. The 900-year old historical site has seen many forms through the years. “From farm estate to hospital and now a luxurious retreat, Borgo Pignano had the best views of Tuscany,” says wedding planner and mastermind behind the gorgeous images you see here, Charlotte Ricard from La Fete.

“Tuscany is undoubtedly one of the most popular places to get married in Europe, and with good reason: filled with endless historic homes, picturesque villages and fantastic food, these are just a few reasons why couples fly here every year to tie the knot. We wanted to create a photo shoot, inspired by Italian heritage, colors and aesthetics, but with a contemporary and unique vision. And of course, plenty of romantic touches,” says Charlotte.

Traditional style was used for the groom’s attire in a black tuxedo and white shirt. However, for the bride, they decided to go with two Spanish designed gowns by Cayetana Ferrer. “The designs perfectly embodied the spirit we wanted to portray – romantic, classic and just a little quirky.” Minimal jewelry including pearl earrings, a diamond engagement ring and wedding band allow the gown and floral crown by Sophie & Luna to be the focal point.

Fresh, dewy skin and simple golden eye makeup with a glossy lip gave the bride an ethereal look combined with her fishtail braid. The floral details complimented the entire ensemble.

For the floral perspective, “the emphasis was on blush, cream and mauve flowers, with plenty of foliage elegantly blended amongst the blooms. Our favourite element however, was the absolute masterpiece Tuscany Flowers created especially for the day: an asymmetrical arch built around the church door, that looked as if it had grown naturally that way,” recalls Charlotte.

Beyond the couple and the stunning flowers, the table setting might be one of the most unique parts of the shoot. “Set up in one of the most magical corners of Borgo Pignano and with a breath-taking view of the Tuscan hills, our table was as special as we hoped it would be.” With rustic aspects like the farmhouse table juxtaposed with embellished details such as mismatched silver cutlery and gold candleholders, the effect was both relaxed vintage and sophisticated luxury.

Special elements like custom watercolored stationery by Harriet from De Winton Paper Co, a classic convertible Morris Minor (adorned to perfection by Tuscany Flowers) and a tiered cake with filigree design complete with pink and white hand crafted sugar flowers by Tuscan Wedding Cakes really brought the vision of an Italian fairy tale wedding full circle.
