White sand beaches, sumptuous food, azure waters for as far as the eye can see and a bevy of wedding professionals are all ready and waiting for you to say, “I do,” in the Cayman Islands. A Cayman Islands destination wedding leaves nothing to be desired. Your guests will have more than their fair share of fun to be had and you can expect to find almost any ceremony backdrop you can dream up. Check out our five-day sample itinerary that you and your loved ones can experience firsthand during your destination wedding and/or honeymoon.
Day 1: Stroll the Sandy Beaches
Arrive to Grand Cayman and check in!
Take your pick of the many amazing high-end properties on Grand Cayman. Enjoy Caribbean Club for the ultimate in a luxury boutique hotel experience, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman for a traditional high-end place to stay, the new Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa for a sexy, sleek and indulgent getaway or choose from an exclusive, private property through Luxury Cayman Villas. Need to cash-in some Starwood reward points on-island and keep it posh? The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa is a perfect fit.
Afternoon: Take a leisurely stroll along Seven Mile Beach and enjoy a cocktail (or two) in the sand. Linger as long as you like, because you won’t want to miss the breathtaking sunset on your first night.
Evening: Dinner with the group at the Lobster Pot. Indulge in the view and your meal. Seafood creations such as lobster and mango salad, tuna tartar and even a junior lobster option for, well, “juniors,” are on the menu.
Day 2: Land and Sea
Morning: Hop aboard your own private yacht for the day through Cayman Luxury Charters and check out an island highlight – Stingray City. You’ll swim with stingrays and other sea creatures in this safe, yet exhilarating ocean experience.
Afternoon: Indulge in a relaxing spa treatment at one of the many decadent spas on island. Silver Rain at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is a favorite.
Evening: Enjoy the setting sun and a sumptuous dinner at Grand Old House. The restored historic home exudes romance with dinner on their expansive multi-level deck complete with overhead market lights and balmy ocean breezes.
Day 3: Shopping and Food Crawl
Morning: Camana Bay is the place to go for lavish shopping and dining. Shops carry locally sourced products as well as internationally known brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Gucci and Prada.
Midday: Now that you’ve worked up an appetite from all the shopping, take the ferry from Camana Bay to Kaibo Yacht Club and have a light picnic of fresh conch ceviche right on the sand.
Afternoon: Next, head over to Rum Point Club – home of the best mudslide in the world and host your guests for a post-lunch sweet treat.
Evening: Head to dinner at Kaibo in the upstairs dining room. Touting “creative cuisine,” this hot spot is not only popular by day, but by night (and can also serve as a great wedding venue option!) Take that water taxi (aka ferry) right back to Camana Bay for a nightcap.
Day 4: Say Your Destination “I Do’s”
Morning: Perhaps another visit to the spa is in order to get you pampered, relaxed and glowing for the big day, followed by professional hair and makeup by Jackie Soriano.
Midmorning: While the bridal party gets prepped, the guests can do a short, half-day excursion to one of the hottest new island highlights – Crystal Caves. Hiking through these naturally formed caves leads you to an underground lake, a bat den and craggy stalactites and stalagmites.
Afternoon: Once your group is polished and proper and your guests have returned from their cave adventures, settle in for the big moment. Stroll down the aisle to the love of your life for the ultimate milestone and say, “I do.”
Evening: Dance the night away, celebrating your union under the stars, feet in the sand or in an opulently adorned ballroom at any one of the aforementioned properties from Day 1. We recommend them all!
Day 5: Time to Say “Goodbye”
Morning: Host a farewell beach picnic or waterfront breakfast for your guests before you head home and back to reality.
No time is long enough on this island paradise, so our advice? Enjoy your honeymoon here or island hop to Cayman Brac or Little Cayman! Still want more? Click to check out yesterday’s post Destination: Weddings in the Cayman Islands.
