Ashore Resort & Beach Club, a new resort in Ocean City, Maryland, has a great solution in their one-of-a-kind event space, the Shore Deck – the ultimate beach wedding venue.

As part of the hotel’s top-to-bottom transformation before their grand opening, a former second-story pool and deck has been transformed into an airy, light event space that spans the whole length of the floor, with ocean views to the east and bay views to the west. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both ends can be opened up garage-door style, allowing in the elements, or stay closed to keep everything out but the views (key in August humidity!). The ocean-facing side of the venue features an outdoor terrace for even more room, and the entire thing accommodates up to 200 guests for events with dining and a dance floor.

The onsite planners make things easy with packages that include venue rental, chairs and buffet dinner. Or work with a local event planner (they have recs) to transform the space into anything from a colorful Palm Beach-style affair to black-tie formal. 

If you want to be closer to the sand, look to their beachside Dune Deck. Say your vows on the sand, then come back to the venue for the party at the Shore Deck, complete with a décor reveal. 

Located on the quitter northern end of Ocean City on 98^th Street, Ashore Beach Club has only been open for a year but has won loyal fans with their cheery, midcentury-meets-nautical design, and fantastic dining at the Wahoo Beach Bar and more formal Tide Room restaurant.  

When you want to head out for a day on the beach, just stroll out to the beach and their cabana team with set you up with chaise lounges and an umbrella. You don’t need to leave for lunch, thanks to Wahoo’s beachside service. Along with 250 beach-modern guest rooms spread out over 15 floors and parking included in your resort fee, Ashore is the only hotel in Ocean City that offers this type of beach service, making it a sure treat for guests who travel in for your destination wedding.  After all, who can say no to a beach wedding like this?
