Bahamas Destination Wedding

Taylor and Christopher first met in the Bahamas on the 4th of July in 2016. The fireworks between them only continued from that moment on, and the couple tied the knot nearly three years later in the same destination.

“We felt it was fitting since the Bahamas holds such a special place in our hearts, and we wanted to share it with our friends and family,” the bride says. “Getting down there a few times a year with friends is something that we look forward to doing, and we want to continue that tradition when we have a family of our own.”
Luckily for the couple, their 80 guests were overjoyed with the idea of celebrating in paradise. With the help of their planner, Marva Munroe from Chic Bahamas Weddings and Events, making their destination wedding dreams come to life was a seamless success.
Their serene ceremony captured the essence of the perfect tropical vacation. Held on the beach surrounded by palm trees with endless views of the Sea of Abaco, Taylor and Chris said “I do” to the sound of their favorite songs being played on the ukulele and guitar by a Great Guana Cay musician.
Later that night, the dance floor was the center of attention as the couple and their guests danced the night away at a lively reception complete with an energetic local DJ.
“We had bistro lights strung overhead attached to the coconut palms. The food was catered through the resort and was served buffet style to provide a casual feel, and we turned the beach pavilion into an open bar to set the tone for the evening,” the bride says.
Dancing, drinks and celebrations aside, the couple’s favorite moment of the day was the first look as bride and groom. “Having that time for us before we saw all our family and friends was super intimate and memorable.”
Taylor and Christopher’s tropical wedding in paradise was exactly what they had in mind for their special day. The bride says the key to creating a spectacular event abroad lies in a talented local wedding planner, enjoying the process and focusing on the single most important aspect: becoming lawfully wedded together forever.
“Whenever you’re stressed, just know that on that day, none of that stress will matter,” the bride says. “You will be surrounded by your favorite people and having the time of your lives.”
