You got engaged, congratulations! Wedding planning can finally begin, and your years of secretly curating wedding inspiration are finally paying off! One of the first things on your to-do list: picking a wedding color. Take inspiration from the experts at FTD and discover what they have to say below:

This task can be daunting and is often more complex than just picking your favorite color and running with it. You want to keep a few things in mind: season, venue, general wedding style, what colors flatter you and what feeling you want your color to evoke. If you’re still drawing a blank, turning to current color trends is a great idea.

One of the most reliable sources for color trends is the Pantone Institute. In case you haven’t heard of them: The Pantone Institute began as a graphic standards system in 1963. Today, they are a collective that strives to be the universal language of color. The Institute highlights the top seasonal runway colors, forecasts global color trends and advises companies on color for product and brand visual identity. Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2020 is Classic Blue!

Classic Blue, is meant to instill calmness, confidence and connection. It is said to bring a sense of tranquility and peace to the human spirit (isn’t that what all brides want on their wedding day?). The best part of Pantone’s Color of the Year? They also release harmonizing color palettes so you don’t have to stress about choosing your secondary hues! Whether you want to enjoy a palette of paradise or embrace the tranquility of the Classic Blue, there is a palette for you.

To help you get inspired, we created four mood boards celebrating Pantone’s Color of the Year with stunning bouquets. The beautiful flower arrangements might just help you make this difficult decision so you can move on with your wedding plans. Take a look at the mood boards and find the perfect color scheme for your big day in 2020!

Whichever color palette you choose for your special day, the Classic Blue is called classic for a reason. The blue hues are a timeless pick you’ll surely still love when looking back at pictures in a few decades.
