Getting married is a huge milestone– so much so that you have decided to celebrate it in a special location far from home. Such an event warrants a countdown more exciting than the typical “days until the wedding” wooden sign. Wouldn’t you say so?
Well, we at Destination I Do think your wedding deserves all the hyping up it can get! That’s why we decided to share some creative ways to help you and your soon-to-be spouse celebrate leading up to one of the biggest days of your lives. Here are a few ideas for your wedding countdown:
Sweet Surprises
Known for its high-quality, cocktail-inspired candies that are presented in clear, Instagrammable boxes, chances are you have seen the Sugarfina brand appear in stores or on your social media feeds. But, did you know the company was imagined by a couple, Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick, while they were on their first date at an outdoor screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? How cute is that?! It’s no wonder they know how to celebrate love! Brand new in their wedding gift collection is the 21 Days Until I Do Tasting Box. This sweet advent calendar reveals a drawer filled with four pieces of Sugarfina’s 21 most popular candies and retails for $50.
A Gift A Week
For an extra bit of fun, give each other one gift a week. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but try to think of gifting things your partner can use long after the wedding. If you’re not sure what to get them, a great place to start is pampering products like the Light Therapy Mask by Peppy Co. This medical-grade LED mask offers three therapeutic lights for a clearer complexion in just 10 minutes a day. With blue light to banish bacteria, red light to prevent wrinkles and yellow light to detoxify skin, this LED mask can actually be a gift to both of you. The gift of beautiful skin on the wedding day and long after? It doesn’t get much better!
Instagram Countdown
Take to Instagram and Facebook stories each day leading up to the wedding. Consider putting up a cute picture of you and your partner or details of the wedding (like invitations or flowers) and place a countdown sticker on top. This is a fun and free way to help hype you and your guests up for the big day.
Letters to Your Love
Perhaps the most romantic of all, you could write love letters to your future spouse one a day the week before starting “forever” with them. Here are a week’s long of writing prompts to help inspire your letters.
Write about…
- your favorite memory from when you first started dating
- when you knew for a fact that you wanted to marry them
- your favorite quirks about them
- a song that reminds you of them and why
- your favorite trip you took together
- things your partner has taught you
- what you hope for your future together
