“You had me at ‘Aloha.’”

This was not only written on the personalized cocktail napkins, but also in the hearts and minds of all who attended a recent VIP luncheon for Tassels & Tastemakers at Four Seasons Lana’i.

This intimate gathering allowed for some fun in the sun, relaxation, learning and connecting with the best-of-the-best wedding vendors in Hawaii.

Close to thirty destination wedding photographers, planners, rental companies, stationers and other vendors got the grand tour of the renovated (and arguably the BEST renovation I’ve ever seen) Four Seasons Lana’i, followed by an al fresco lunch overlooking nirvana.

We nibbled on Ahi Poke (they had a “create your own” Ahi Poke STATION, people) and sipped signature cocktails on the patio before heading to our seated lunch. Each table was impeccably designed by the sweet and talented Lorrie, owner of Unveiled Hawaii and Maui’s Angels. Floral arrangements by Mandy Grace Designs and custom linens by Mod Mix Studio made for a modern yet chic pairing. Wooden laser cutout names by Delovely Details of each attendee were then placed in a Koa wood bowl and given as gifts.

As wedding vendors chatted it up, indulged in decadent food and enjoyed the perfect sunshine, Leila Lewis of Be Inspired PR and founder of Tassels & Tastemakers and I (Editor in Chief of Destination I Do) fielded questions pertaining to connecting with today’s destination wedding couple. The afternoon gave us a perfect time to discuss subjects such as leveraging social media platforms like Instagram, how to ensure destination wedding couples get published online or in print and what us quirky editors are looking for as far as content. If we’re going to “talk shop” at least we got to do it with these views! And hey, aren’t you glad wedding vendors are always furthering their businesses to better serve you?!

After our bellies and minds were full, some had to head back home, however, I was lucky enough to enjoy an overnight stay. Thank goodness for a red-eye flight home the next day because I used every second to explore the stunning setting I was in. I took a dip in the pool, enjoyed a sumptuous brunch buffet, hand crafted cocktails overlooking the ocean and more Ahi Poke. Don’t judge me, you just can’t get that quality of fish everywhere.

Tassels & Tastemakers gave me a welcome excuse to upgrade my office digs for a few days and head over to one of my favorite destinations on earth. If you missed the night before party on Maui, check out this post: Hawaii Wedding Vendors Unite.

Just another day in paradise as the saying goes – but in reality, the Four Seasons Lana’i truly IS a slice of heaven.
