Aaron and Brianna hail from different parts of the country, so since their guests were going to have to travel no matter what, the couple decided on a beach destination wedding in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Brianna vacationed in Mexico growing up and always envisioned herself getting married there one day. Thankfully, her soon-to-be hubby and guests agreed!

The couple had a bit of a tough time narrowing down their venue options since there are so many in the Cabo San Lucas area. The solution? Visit in person. “After looking at several resorts and talking with the wedding coordinators face-to-face…it was clear to us that we wanted to have our wedding at the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa,” says the bride. “We chose [this resort] because it was a well groomed, smaller resort and we felt they offered more of a personal touch. We had guests coming from many different states and we wanted them to have the opportunity to see and get to know each other during their stay. The size of the resort made this possible.”

Also essential in achieving their ideal experience was using a travel agency, Time of Your Life Travel. “We used a travel agent, which we believe is the best way to go if you want a more stress-free wedding,” recalls the couple. “She was able to set up travel itineraries for guests and get their flights and hotel booked as well. This way [we] weren’t having to deal with travel questions and could just refer all travel-related questions to the travel agent.”

In addition to getting the beach destination wedding the bride had always envisioned, the couple also believes they saved some money along the way. “Many of our friends are now getting married in various states and we are hearing how much higher the prices are for their weddings. I think the most expensive part of getting married in the U.S. is the wedding venue itself and that’s something which was included in our wedding package…”

In the end, Aaron and Brianna have no doubts they made the right decision when it came to getting married away. “Our overall experience was amazing. We can’t imagine having done it any other way! The entire process seemed to fit us to a tee.” They also have some advice for other couples currently planning their own destination wedding: “Start planning a year ahead, if possible. [Also,] pick one or two parts of your wedding you want to splurge on. Our splurge item was the photography/videography. Stephen and Chelsey of TréCreative exceeded our expectations and we will be able to relive our wedding for years to come through their photography.”
