For lovely couple Kabeer and Stephanie, deciding where to hold their dream destination wedding was a no-brainer. The couple love to vacation, and got in engaged, on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Thankfully, the couple’s friends and family were on board to travel to this Caribbean paradise.

After getting engaged, the planning started and Stephanie had her ups and downs with the process, but was patient and it clearly paid off. “Planning a destination wedding is harder in some ways and easier in others,” says the bride. “It was definitely hard not physically being there and meeting with the vendors, trying any of the food/cake or seeing examples of flower arrangements.

“Planning a destination wedding in the Virgin Islands was nice in the sense that you’re not overwhelmed with too many options because there aren’t that many options for various vendors. There are a handful of vendors for each category, which is a blessing in disguise for the indecisive personality.”

In the end, 65 of the couple’s nearest and dearest RSVP’d for the Caribbean nuptials. While Stephanie and Kabeer were thrilled to have so many in attendance, it did make it a touch difficult finding accommodations for everyone. “A lot of the reasonably priced hotels on St. John are boutiques and we couldn’t find a block of rooms to accommodate our group of 65,” says Stephanie. “We worked with all of our guests and found hotels in the same area our guests could stay at. In the end, it all worked out.”

In the end, the couple doesn’t question their decision to host a wedding away for a second. They were able to share a beloved destination with those they care about most and spent roughly a week in paradise with all their favorite people. The couple has some final words of advice for other couples going down the same road: “Don’t worry about other peoples’ opinions, it’s your day! Enjoy it, live it up and do whatever you want!”
