Intimate Italy Destination ElopementWords by Lauren Ertl

After four attempts at creating a wedding with their entire family and friends, Renata and Steven felt more overwhelmed than joyous when it came to wedding planning. Renata started researching elopements and said, "The more I researched, the more eloping just made sense. And the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea."
They came across Rochelle Cheever, a destination elopement planner, designer and fine art photographer. Rochelle has mastered the elopement experience so much so that she has even authored a book on the subject, "The Elopement Experience.” Her mission is to create and capture a once-in-a-lifetime romantic adventure for clients, providing them with an unforgettable experience that is just as unique as they are.
Rochelle believes Villa Cimbrone is one of the top venues in Italy (probably the world) for intimate weddings. It’s in Ravello, a resort town on the Amalfi Coast known for its iconic cliffside gardens.
"After Rochelle showed us Villa Cimbrone,” Renata says, “we knew it was the perfect place for us. Everything just fell into place and became the most incredible time of my life thus far, plus we had an amazing trip that was also the honeymoon of a lifetime, even during a pandemic."
Renata was stunning with hair and makeup by Beauty Livery in her effortlessly elegant Monique Lhuillier dress and Badgley Mischka shoes. Her groom donned a tux from Armani that was perfectly cohesive to their classic vibe.
After walking down a dreamy white, petal-filled aisle, the couple said "I do" amidst the mountainous backdrop while being serenaded by string music. Rochelle ensured they achieved some stunning portraits throughout Villa Cimbrone before settling into an intimate four-course dinner, complete with candlelight, lush blooms from Francesco Di Bianco, cake and champagne to celebrate what became the most joyous celebration of all!
