Whether you are a lover of literature or of whimsical style, we’re pleased to present this romantic-styled shoot from destination and luxury wedding expert Tara Fay. Tara notably designed Engage! 18 at Adare Manor and was named one of Harper’s Bazaar top wedding planners in the world in 2020. Without further ado, here is Tara herself to explain the inspiration behind this incredible shoot:
“Silky and ruffled textures from Halfpenny London matched my vision for both sophistication and whimsical to this timelessly romantic shoot. I wanted to magnify literary nods within manicured gardens for couples seeking poetic inspiration to their wedding style.
Our model’s pulled-back soft curls and off-shoulder crop top set a modern, yet romantic look for an iconic outdoor garden ceremony. Just like a literary vision, she wore a fine two-row cultured pearl necklace with detachable Edwardian pink topaz and diamond brooch pendant including 10 carats of diamonds. She transitioned her full ruffled skirt to chic high-waisted pleated pants, dressed up with a gold necklace collar including 9 carats and a 1940’s Retro diamond twisted two stone diamond ring.
To incorporate outside gardens to the tables, ferns can be found both printed on the table’s linens and delicately wrapped with emerald burlap at the place settings. Bamboo flatware and a striking top parrot plate add an unexpected touch. The spread of single blooms and mini floral clusters echo the statement of garden varieties, while the tall taper candles elevate and visually balance the table’s beauty.
I’m particularly inspired by the outdoor shoot location itself, the Iveagh Gardens. Dedicated to Irish novelist Maeve Binchy, I encourage romantic and literary couples to think of their own public gardens and the history behind them, or how to incorporate small nods from their favorite stories into their style and photography.”
