A destination wedding in the Bahamas is about as idyllic as it gets. Turquoise waters, white sand beaches, Caribbean breezes…what more could a couple ask for?

A lot, actually.

When it comes to creating the wedding of your dreams, you’re going to need some help. Enter our “Expert in Chief,” Marva Monroe of Chic Bahamas Weddings.

As someone who has been planning Bahamas weddings for years, Marva knows the ins and outs of getting married in the Caribbean. She’s put together a detailed timeline of what your wedding weekend would look like – from excited arrival to regretful departure.  

Day 1:

Midday:
Arrive in Exuma Bahamas to unpack, unwind and RELAX at Grand Isle Resort.

Afternoon:
Meet Marva to review your wedding timeline, do a walk through of the venue and apply for your marriage license.

Evening: 
Enjoy your evening together and welcome loved ones as guests begin to check in. 

Day 2: 

Morning: 
Champagne breakfast with guests at Palapa Grill

Midday: 
Couple and guests to sail via water taxi to Chat n’ Chill on Stocking Island to enjoy Bahamian fare, cooked-to-order.

Afternoon: 
Return to Grand Isle Resort to freshen up and get ready for the rehearsal!

Evening:
Rehearsal on the beach, followed by a passed hors d’oeuvres, an island style buffet and bonfire on the beach…all while being serenaded by Mikey Hoyte’s Steel Band.

Day 3: 

Midmorning: 
Champagne brunch for wedding parties followed by professional hair and makeup in suite.

Midday: 
Photographer and cinematographer arrive to capture details.

Afternoon: 
Wedding parties transfer via boat to sandbar for ceremony

Sunset: 
Ceremony for couple begins with string trio entertaining guests…couple says, “I DO!”

Evening:
Group sails back to resort for cocktails by the sea, steel band performances and canapés, followed by a decadent dinner, dancing, speeches and FUN!

Late evening:
After party commences and couple serves late night snacks for late night guests.

Day 4:

Mid-morning
Room-service recovery commences.

Mid-day: 
Group transfer to swim with the pigs

Evening:
A relaxed beach bbq with the group as the sun sets.

Day 5: 

Departures throughout the day as the newlywed couple hosts an open house farewell.
