The quaint town of Galloway, New Jersey, only eight miles inland from the hustle and bustle of Atlantic City, is home to one of the East Coast’s most desirable destination wedding settings. What Atlantic City now lacks in terms of stately resorts can be discovered at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club, a Dolce Hotels & Resorts property in Galloway. With roots dating back to 1914, the iconic Seaview Hotel and Golf Club is storied in tradition. And what a tradition it is.

Several presidents, scores of celebrities, and many renowned golfers have frequented the resort since its inception as an exclusive country club for the golf enthusiast. The Seaview received the honor of hosting the prestigious PGA Championship in 1942, and is currently home to the LPGA ShopRite Classic. Guests and the wedding party alike can enjoy a round or two of golf at either the links styled Bay Course or the forest lined Pines Course.

As America returned to normalcy following the WWII years, Seaview remained an exclusive country club and golf retreat, catering to business executives. Fast forward to the year 2011, when phase one began a multi-million dollar renovation of the property’s golf, dining, meeting and event venues while paying tribute to the historical significance of the resort’s architectural standards, elegant accommodations and grandiose style.

Located on 67 wooded acres along a scenic bay, the Seaview is the quintessential seaside resort. Situated just 45 minutes from Philadelphia, this exquisite, turn-of-the century resort is easily accessible from several major metropolitan areas, yet provides a peaceful, pristine, retreat-like setting. Although steeped in history, the Seaview provides guests with an unimaginable array of modern amenities. From the elegant lobby and the 296 well-appointed guest rooms, to the state-of-the-art meeting facilities, the wedding party and guests alike will feel welcome, comfortable and well-connected.

Seaview’s manicured gardens, majestic pine forests and stunning vistas provide the ideal venue for a wedding and reception. From careful planning to fastidious attention to detail, the staff sees to it that every flower is in its place and every dish meticulously prepared so that couples can relax and enjoy the magic of the moment. The inspiring setting of a historic mansion, award-winning cuisine and dedicated service ensure that a couple’s unique vision will be flawlessly executed and forever remembered. The resort offers a variety of packages with a huge array of choices, all at varying price points, along with reduced rates for out-of-town guests.

Erin Kenny, the Seaview’s Senior Catering Sales Manager, says the resort hosts close to 100 destination weddings each year. “We are seeing an increase in on-site ceremonies and about 70 percent of our weddings have ceremonies on-site,” she says. Although the resort doesn’t provide the officiant, photographer or music, they will offer recommendations for these services.

Seaview offers event spaces as diverse as the Oval Room to the stunning Bayview Ballroom featuring a beautifully landscaped Terrace and Patio. The lush, secluded outdoor garden locations and charming indoor spaces provide the idyllic settings for weddings and special events. The resort features:

* 39,500 sq. ft. of special event space

* Georgian Style architecture with a chandelier adorned porte cochere and horseshoe-shaped drive surrounded by manicured lawns and seasonal flower beds

* 7,850 sq.ft paved and landscaped Bayview Terrace provides a lovely exterior reception area featuring lush landscaping, ambient lighting, fountain and wedding gazebo

* A manicured Oval Lawn with magnificent views

* A 2,500 sq. ft. Bayview Ballroom Corridor features a satellite Art Gallery

* A magnificent hotel Lobby Lounge which provides a stylish and intimate setting for cocktail parties

* A Bridal Lounge offering luxurious furnishings, restrooms and dressing area

Food is serious business at the Seaview which rewards all the senses with exceptional cuisine and unsurpassed service using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients in delectable menus. The resort’s culinary team creates sumptuous meals customized to specific tastes of the wedding party which ideally compliments the celebratory mood. Diverse menu options are perfect for a lavish rehearsal dinner for the wedding party or for a lively wedding reception. Choose from succulent meats carved to order, fresh fruit and vegetable creations, tender pastas, and savory seafood from a local fishing fleet. Creative finger foods encourage cocktail hour mingling, and expertly decorated cakes taste as delicious as they look, especially when paired with a glass of Champagne. The hotel’s bountiful Sunday Brunch is the prefect way for guests to cap off a Saturday wedding and reception.

A gentle sea breeze … pristine surroundings … a venerable resort.  All combine for the perfect venue for your destination wedding.
