Upon arriving at this privately owned Hawaiian Island it’s as if you have been transported to another world; a paradise where tranquility, culture and luxury come together for an experience unlike any other.
The island’s recent change in ownership has rendered a revitalization and renaissance of old world Hawaii while providing top-end luxury with two Four Season Hotels: the beach resort Lāna`i at Manele Bay and its upcountry sister property, The Lodge at Koele.
With the recent unveiling of new guest rooms, suites, lobby and world-renowned Nobu redesign, Lāna`i at Manele Bay has taken the next step towards a contemporary beach resort destination. The calm breeze brings the ocean’s welcoming scent to already stunning views. As you get settled in, let the therapists at the spa massage away any nerves or worry with their Lāna`i Lomi treatement. This classic Hawaiian technique of powerful yet rhythmic strokes will prepare you to soak in your nuptial experience.
Speaking of nuptials, one can coordinate events at one or both Four Seasons properties. When asked what separates their properties from others in Hawaii, director of catering and conferences, Hector Rubio, states “exclusivity.” He goes on to explain the properties have over ten venue and ceremony locations and can host something as small as an elegant elopement or as much as a 700 person resort buy-out.
As for things to do on the island, take a morning hike to Sweetheart Rock to view a one-of-a-kind vantage of the sun emerging from the famed Haleakala, meaning “house of the sun,” or take the Fisherman Trail along the coast passing ancient Hawaiian archeological sites. For water enthusiasts, you can snorkel in the pristinely preserved bay courtesy of the resort, stand-up paddle board and surf via Lāna`i Surf School or take in the island from a different perspective on a Trilogy Excursions‘ sunset sail. Go upcountry for horseback riding, sport clay shooting or UTV adventures with Hawaii Western Adventures.
No matter what reason you choose to travel to this wonderful island, you will experience Hawaiian tradition with all the modern day amenities one could ask for. Aloha Lāna`i!
