When your search criteria for a unique, romantic honeymoon destination includes natural scenic beauty, friendly locals, boutique accommodations, exciting activities and an interesting culinary scene, look no further than Killarney, Ireland.
At Destination I Do, we love discovering new, romantic locations, and this time our journey started in Dublin where we boarded a train that took us through the beautiful Irish countryside to the vibrant town of Killarney. Just steps from the train station we arrived at The Killarney Park, an exclusive luxury five-star hotel.
When you first enter the hotel, you assume you are stepping back into the 1920s and that is by design. Built in 1992, the hotel is actually a newer addition to the destination allowing guests to experience a blend of modern comforts with warm, traditional Irish hospitality.
Committed to excellence, it is not unusual for one of the owners of the hotel, the Treacy family, to greet you upon arrival or serve your coffee in the morning.
Our spacious yet cozy room was carefully appointed with every amenity one could ask for, our dinner at The Peregrine was sumptuous and the prime location allowed us to easily explore the charming town of Killarney.
The luxurious spa and serene atmosphere also make for a perfect retreat for relaxation and romance.
Killarney is a destination that offers a blend of natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. Surrounded by lush mountains, sparkling lakes, and sprawling national parks, Killarney is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
The Killarney National Park, Ireland’s first national park, is a vast expanse of greenery where you can hike through ancient woodlands, explore waterfalls like Torc Waterfall, and take a boat ride on the serene Lakes of Killarney.
Exploring castles, driving along the scenic Ring of Kerry, indulging in local cuisine and enjoying live Irish music in charming pubs are all part of the experience that Ireland is famous for. Killarney is a location that checks all the boxes and won’t disappoint.
