Las Vegas Real Bride Advice

We’ve featured quite a few Las Vegas destination weddings over the years…after all it is the birthplace of the destination wedding! Today we’ve rounded up some of our favorite quotes from real-life brides eager to share their expertise.

“I loved when we both decided to elope to Las Vegas…we wanted to have a vintage, desert, Wes Anderson-inspired wedding and communicated that with our photographer. I also wanted a dreamy, natural desert setting with mountains in the background. In the end, we saved a lot of money by having what we both wanted – a simple desert wedding with our closest friends.”

Laura, A Dreamy Desert Elopement

“It was important to us that people didn’t just come to Vegas for a 4-hour wedding. We wanted to be able to spend time with each and every person that came, and not feel like it was an assembly line to say ‘hi.’ We also wanted a wedding that we would actually enjoy attending ourselves, and we definitely succeeded!”

Christine, Las Vegas Destination Wedding

“People perceive a Las Vegas wedding as a drive-thru [chapel] with Elvis as the officiant. Once we explained it would be a more traditional wedding, our guests were intrigued and excited! Adam and I love Las Vegas. It is a fun and vibrant place, characteristics we want to represent our relationship. Also, we chose a destination that could provide something for everyone, especially since all our guests would be traveling from all over the world. Furthermore, we wanted to make sure our guests could be busy throughout the times we did not have anything planned for them. Lastly, you can stay in Vegas on almost any budget – making it extremely easy for all our guests.”

Kim, A Traditional Las Vegas Wedding

“We are no strangers to travel, being that our families live in two different countries, but we picked Vegas sort of on a whim. I am not the most detail-oriented person and the idea of planning any kind of wedding seemed daunting to me, so a quick and dirty Vegas wedding seemed like a great compromise.”

Virginia, Intimate “I Do’s” in Las Vegas

“Trust your gut and hire people you trust. Also, details and favors should be meaningful, useful and not useless. Do things which mean something to you. Weddings are about celebrating your love for one another, don’t forget that.”

Christina, Viva Las Vegas Destination Wedding

“Spending a week in Las Vegas meant we got to spend seven days of quality time with friends and family. Having a destination wedding was [also] a great excuse to limit the guest list and only include the most important people in our lives. What most people don’t realize about Las Vegas is that the nature surrounding the city is insanely beautiful. It includes remarkable greenery, breathtaking mountains, unique hiking grounds and crystal blue lakes.”
