Say “I do” where Ludacris and Chris Rock recently brought their wives for an ultra-luxe, ultra-romantic seaside escape. Casa Koko is a nine-bedroom resort villa on the private Mexican peninsula of Punta Mita, just 45 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport. The villa comes complete with fitness center, spa and a stretch of sand for lazing in under the Mexican sun, second-to-none stargazing or roasting s’mores at the firepit with family and friends.
Design-loving couples will adore the architecturally stunning villa, which mixes natural, boho-chic color palettes and materials with wow-factor furnishings. Opt to settle into either one of the master retreats and spend time soaking in the lava rock bathtubs, carved from a single giant stone. Each guest room features something special, from sexy open-air outdoor showers to loft bunk beds kids will swoon over.
Couples with 30 guests or fewer can exchange vows in front of a sprawling infinity pool under a giant palapa (which houses the main communal living space full of plush chaises and two giant dining tables) overlooking Banderas Bay and the Marietas Islands, where migrating humpback whales are spotted regularly from October through March. Then, sit down to a custom feast fit for foodies, featuring local shrimp, lobster, grilled vegetables and juicy steaks with chimichurri, paired with wine from nearby Baja California wineries like Casa Madero.
From October through June, larger fetes of up to 250 guests can take a private catamaran from Puerto Vallarta to Las Caletas, a secluded beachfront complex that’s an entertainment and watersports mecca by day and full-service wedding venue by night. Choose from three beaches for your vows – Macahuita can host up to 250 guests, Las Caletas for up to 150, and Catletitas for up to 80 revelers – and let the wedding planners, in-house florists, caterers, DJ and beauty experts from Adventure Weddings take the lead for the planning process.
After tying the knot, stick around for the most luxurious, bespoke honeymoon ever. The weekly rental of Casa Koko includes a full waitstaff, including housekeepers, massage therapists and kitchen staff — including a private chef. Before arrival, make meal requests and send a shopping list, and as soon as you arrive, the kitchen is stocked with your favorite foods.
“Our main goal is to fulfill our guests’ every wish with first-class service,” says Maria Isabel Luna, special projects manager and marketing director for The Adventures Group, which owns and operates Casa Koko. “Whatever request our guests may have, we’ll go above and beyond to make it happen.”
