Luxurious accommodations, stunning views of Scottsdale’s iconic Camelback Mountain and some well deserved R&R await you at Omni Montelucia. Perfect for pre-wedding parties, destination weddings and state-side honeymoons, it’s no wonder this resort is one of the most popular in Scottsdale.
Luckily for me, I got the chance to experience the Mediterranean charm in the desert while on a recent staycation with my husband. (We actually live just 15 minutes down the road.) Despite being so close to home, we felt like we’d somehow transported to somewhere entirely different as we pulled up to the entrance of the property.
The Spanish-inspired architecture welcomes you to discover a world of ease and enjoyment, but the best part is waiting around the corner. Each room offers a sweet mix of old-world decor and modern amenities inspired by the Andalusia region of Spain. We got the luxury of staying in a Grand Mountain View Room – the perfect accommodations for couples. The first thing we noticed was the one-of-a-kind view of the property’s gorgeous pools with the most stunning backdrop of Camelback mountain. Another wonderful surprise was the state-of-the-art bathroom which featured a sunken tub and a walk-in, duel-head shower.
After having our socks knocked off by the beautiful room, we threw on some flip flops and headed downstairs for a drink by the pool. This is where I started to brainstorm ideas for a bachelorette party. I mean there’s nothing better than sitting poolside with a craft cocktail in your hand and your girls by your side. The best part, the Omni Montelucia boasts an adults-only pool fittingly called “Oasis” where the party can start and end each day.
The excitement I had for the idea of planning a bachelorette party here only got stronger as I met up with the Director of Catering & Conference Services who took me on an official property tour. Our first stop: Joya Spa. The relaxation force is strong with this spa. From choosing a healing stone and setting your tone for the day to entering into the room of purification where a 55 lb quartz crystal radiates light in multiple colors, Joya offers fully integrated wellness experiences.
We moved on to see the property’s multiple wedding ceremony and reception locations, visiting first Castillo Lucena. I could practically hear the church bells ringing as the 16th-century palace double doors from Southern Spain opened before me. The cathedral ceilings and beautiful dark wood floors would have any couple feeling like Spanish royalty. Transitioning outdoors, she guided me to the semi-private, Valencia Lawn. With 6,500 square feet, the lawn’s backdrop of Camelback Mountain makes for a unique ceremony setting. Following these two settings, we saw the traditional ballroom settings on-property the Alhambra Ballroom (holds up to 450 guests) and the Valencia Ballroom (holds up to 250 guests). For more intimate weddings and events, the Omni offers the Camelback Presidential Suite lawn and the Chef’s Kitchen Patio.
At the end of the tour, my husband and I had worked up an appetite, and after experiencing all the property had to offer, I knew our dinner at the picturesque Prado restaurant would be nothing less than spectacular. We enjoyed the best Paella I’ve had in my life and with spectacular service.
Perhaps my favorite part of our entire stay was waking up in the comfiest bed of all time, listening to the morning birds sing as and the desert sunrise slowly illuminated the red rock mountain. Truly, the Omni Montelucia is the type of resort you simply must experience for yourself.
