For engaged couples planning a destination wedding in Mexico, Los Cabos offers something few places in the world can replicate. It is the striking intersection of rugged desert, sparkling ocean views, and golden sunlight that feels both cinematic and restorative. For the past 20 years, that landscape has been the canvas for Yahwe Garcia, CEO and founder of Del Cabo Events, whose creative vision has helped define what a Cabo wedding looks and feels like today.
What began as a leap of faith has evolved into one of Mexico’s most respected wedding and event design companies, built on intention, emotional storytelling, and unwavering trust.

The Courage to Fill a Creative Gap
“Twenty years ago, I followed my instinct,” Garcia says. When he arrived in Los Cabos, he noticed something others had overlooked: while events were happening, no one was specializing in thoughtful design and décor. “There was a creative gap big enough to dream inside of,” he explains.

He launched Del Cabo Events from his apartment with little more than intuition and passion. “I had zero business knowledge,” Garcia admits, “but I knew I had found my calling and I was standing in the right place at the right moment.” Two decades later, what fuels him remains unchanged. “What keeps me passionate today is the same thing that moved me back then: people trust us with the most important moments of their lives. Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate successes…these are emotional milestones, not just logistics. Being invited into those situations as a collaborator and a storyteller is an honor that never stops humbling me.”
In the past 20 years, Garcia has expanded out to other sister brands that include Aria Vera Floral Design, Yaya Rentals, and Del Cabo Weddings.

Designing With Cabo, Not Against It
Garcia credits the destination itself with shaping his creative philosophy. “Cabo is a masterclass in creativity,” he explains. “This is a desert, therefore flowers have to be brought in, materials have to be engineered for the climate, and the environment demands both imagination and respect.”
That approach has become Del Cabo Events’ signature: global sophistication layered with Mexican artistry, all grounded in meticulous execution and calm, confident planning.

Supporting that vision is Pamela Luengas, Director of Del Cabo Weddings, who articulates what Garcia has long understood about the region. “Cabo has a visual language of its own,” she notes. “It’s authentic, dramatic, and effortless in a way very few destinations are. Unlike tropical destinations that lean lush and green, Cabo feels architectural, organic, and editorial.”
Under Garcia’s direction, the landscape becomes part of the storytelling. “the desert, the ocean, the sky’s shifting colors…our role is to build the bridge between that story and the celebration,” says Garcia.
Translating Love Stories Into Design
For Garcia, design always begins with people, not palettes. “Every wedding is different,” he says. “Every couple arrives with their own rhythm, their own tastes, their own history. Before we ever meet them in person, we’ve already done our homework.”
Luengas reinforces this philosophy in execution. “Our role is to take those intangibles (their essence, what they’re drawn to, their culture) and turn them into a cohesive visual experience across the entire weekend, welcome events, ceremony, reception, and farewell moments,” says Luengas. “We want it to feel like their dream, and then elevate it.”

Creating Calm From Afar
Many Del Cabo couples plan from another country, and Garcia sees peace of mind as part of the service. “That first call, whether they’re in New York, or Dallas, or Los Angeles, is our moment to say: you can breathe now—we’ve got you,” he says.
Luengas says she “becomes their eyes, their voice and their calm.”
She knows that planning a wedding away from home can overwhelm some couples. “We focus on clarity, communication, and trust. We guide couples step by step, explain the why behind every decision, and make sure nothing feels rushed or unclear,” says Luengas.
But the two most important components? Honesty and productivity. “Couples know exactly what to expect, when to expect it, and who is handling every detail,” says Luengas. “That reassurance allows them to actually enjoy the process, even from miles away.”

Growing With Intention
As Del Cabo Events expands, Garcia remains deliberate. Puerto Vallarta, Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit felt like natural extensions. “Now, Yaya Rentals and our Del Cabo Wedding services are on their way to San Miguel de Allende,” says Garcia. “A city where art, history, and craftsmanship feel alive in every corner. It’s a place that speaks our language of texture, design, and storytelling.”

Beyond Mexico, Del Cabo has designed events everywhere from Manhattan to Rome, often at the request of longtime clients. “But we move intentionally,” Garcia says, “never chasing growth for its own sake. We only take the next step when the spark feels right.”
For the future, Garcia is looking at possibilities in the Caribbean, the U.S. and Europe, where they can elevate the experience for couples and corporations alike.
A Personal Story That Defines the Brand
When asked about a moment that still gives him goosebumps, Garcia doesn’t point to a grand installation or high-profile clients, but to his own wedding.
Eleven years ago, he and his partner Luca Ravera (who is the Creative Director and Founder of Del Cabo Events’ sister brand, Aria Vera Floral Design) were on vacation in Greece. “We were watching the sunset from beneath a yellow-and-white parasol. The light was soft and warm…almost golden. And in that moment, we looked at each other and said, ‘These are our colors.’ Yellow and white, a palette that felt both joyful and timeless,” recalls Garcia.
At the time, gay marriage wasn’t legal in Los Cabos yet, so the couple decided to have a civil ceremony in Mexico City. And although the ceremony held deep meaning for the couple, Garcia and Ravera longed for something truly intentional. “I wanted our celebration at home to mean something more, and to stand as a statement, a visible declaration that love deserves to be honored with the same dignity everywhere.”
The choice was obvious as to who would design the wedding. Del Cabo Weddings, of course. “They know me better than anyone, and they poured their hearts into it. Experiencing their work not as a planner but as a groom was profoundly moving,” recalls Garcia.
At one point during the reception, the couple had a moment of reflection and appreciation for what their own wedding meant. “When I stepped back and took it all in— the florals, the atmosphere, the people who loved us, the Mediterranean-inspired palette brought into that Baja night — I thought: This is what it looks like when love and design and purpose come together,” says Garcia. “I’ve designed thousands of events, but that night with Luca, that’s the one I carry with me in everything I create.”
A 20th Anniversary Celebration to Remember
To celebrate two decades in business, Del Cabo Events threw a fiesta to remember. Vibrantly colored floral displays, hanging lanterns, passed signature cocktails, live entertainment, heartfelt toasts, and delectable food for more than 400 people were enjoyed at Flora Farms. The design took center stage with traditional Mexican embellishments, including Chiapas embroidered napkins and custom linens, laser-cut Talavera installations and brightly colored Borlitas hanging from wooden structures.

After the sumptuous four-course meal, guests were guided to the afterparty on a brightly lit catwalk through a tropical field where laser light displays illuminated the sky. Once everyone made it to the main area, they were treated to live DJs, aerial performances, live music and dessert. The revelry went on late into the night in pure Del Cabo Events’ fashion.

After 20 years, Yahwe Garcia isn’t simply designing weddings in Los Cabos; he’s shaping experiences that honor his clients, no matter the destination or the culture. Both Garcia and Luengas continue to remind couples that when trust, intention, and beauty align, something truly unforgettable happens.
