A Property Steeped in History

Originally built as a home for Paul Litchfield and his family in 1919, the Wigwam has functioned as everything from a guest ranch back in 1929 to a respite for families during World War II, and even a desert haven for movie stars and celebrities in the 1940s. Today the property is a lush retreat for leisure seekers, families and most importantly, destination wedding couples.

Although the property dates back to the 1900s, the modern amenities and creature comforts are in abundance without compromising any of the charm.

A Haven of Natural Beauty

Located just outside Phoenix (and a quick 25-minute drive from Sky Harbor International Airport), Wigwam Arizona boasts a backdrop that feels straight out of a postcard. Couples and their guests are welcomed by acres of manicured gardens, dotted with vibrant desert flora, creating a serene oasis in the midst of the arid landscape.

For those seeking a touch of adventure, the resort’s proximity to the Sonoran Desert opens doors to exhilarating activities. From hikes through stunning desert hills to hot air balloon rides over the rugged terrain, Wigwam invites couples to weave the spirit of the Southwest into every aspect of their celebration.

For guests looking to enjoy a round of golf, Wigwam Arizona has three championship golf courses to choose from. And those who are looking to soak up the endless sunshine, there are three pools on the property.
