On Krishna and Adam’s first big trip together early into their relationship, the couple visited the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii to attend a friend’s wedding. After sharing vibrant Hawaiian sunsets together on the beach and witnessing a serene, intimate island wedding, the couple couldn’t help but fall in love.
“The wedding was the most gorgeous and intimate wedding I’d been to, and I think secretly we both knew that was also for us!”
After getting engaged, the Maui destination wedding Krishna and Adam dreamt of began to take form… That is until you know what shut the world down.
“We originally planned on getting married July 2020,” Krishna says, “but then there was a global pandemic, so we postponed until 2021. Most of our guests were still able and willing to make the trip in 2021, which we were so grateful for!”
Although rescheduling threw a wrench in plans, with the help of their wedding planner, Sherron Lawrence-Daniels of Tropical Maui Weddings, the couple’s planning experience turned out to be as stress-free as wedding planning can be!
“Our wedding planner is a legit angel,” the bride says. “She did EVERYTHING.”
Vendors went above and beyond to ensure Krishna and Adam could focus on the magic of finally getting to say “I do!” For example, the bride says:
Our programs [which were near and dear to me because they had a message honoring our loved ones who had passed] decided to take a little swim in the Pacific Ocean en route to Maui, and our stationery company, Poeme, which was based in Cincinnati, literally reprinted and re-made the programs two days before the wedding. I remember Kristen with Poeme saying, “Don’t worry! Drink a mimosa and your wedding planner and I will take care of it all.” I did, and they did, and the programs were amazingly beautiful.
After all was said and done, the couple got to thoroughly enjoy the intimate Maui wedding they’d always wanted. Plus, the party didn’t stop there as they’d get to celebrate in traditional Indian fashion (to honor Krishna’s heritage) at home a month later for those who could not attend in Hawaii.
“Our favorite part of the whole experience was having many days to share and celebrate with our friends and family while in Hawaii—not just the wedding day itself,” the couple says.
