A Touching Lake Tahoe Wedding

Law school sweethearts Meredith and Justin fell in love while studying in the library at UC Berkeley.
This adorable couple had more than smarts in common, they also share a love of the Donner Pass area near Lake Tahoe. When they were studying for the California Bar, they would stay at Meredith’s family home. They whiled away the hours
cramming for the exam and falling in love with each other – and the area. “We love everything about the Sierras in the summer – the dry piney air, the fluffy clouds and the beautiful sparkling lakes,” recalls Meredith.
The destination proved to be the perfect spot for their wedding away with close to 140 people in attendance. Most of their loved ones made a vacation out of it and stayed three days.
The wedding came together with the help of their on-site coordinator, Meghon from Sugar Bowl Resort. “Meghon had everything down to a science; she was amazing to work with, even from far off and was a magician on the wedding weekend itself,” says Meredith.
The couple was married at Sugar Bowl Lodge by the bride’s grandmother’s pastor using their own personal vows. Post-ceremony, the guests were offered Champagne and a shuttle up to the top of the mountain via the chairlift. There they were met with a breathtaking view and cocktail hour.
The celebration continued through the night at the base of the mountain where dinner was served and guests were entertained by a New Orleans brass band.
The entire weekend turned out to be a lot of fun for both the couple and their guests. As Meredith recalls, “One of the best things about having a destination wedding was to be able to have such extended time with family and friends, and to let our guests explore a place that means so much to us.”
