Rome Bridal Week is a spectacle of innovation and tradition seamlessly intertwined in beautiful Italy. From intricate details to bold fashion statements, the runway was brimming with ideas for the modern bridal aesthetic. We partnered with Deborah Kugler of Officialé who attended the event firsthand to gather five key trends that stood out at this year’s Rome Bridal Week.

Messaging on Veils: A Love Letter Worn
More designers are incorporating embroidered messages onto veil designs. Whether it’s the traditional “Till Death Do Us Part” or a unique quote that holds special meaning, this trend turns the veil into a storytelling piece.
“What I love about this trend is that it makes the veil a piece of artwork,” Deborah says. “It is so unique to the moment and the couple’s love story that it makes the wedding experience all the more bespoke.”

White Bridal Suits: Power Meets Elegance
Blending masculine and feminine energies, the white bridal suit remains a strong trend. A chic, contemporary option Rome Bridal Week reminded us these looks simply exude empowerment. “It allows mixing and matching with one to two pieces of clothing, offering a spectrum of versatility,” Deborah adds. Whether styled with wide-leg trousers or a tailored blazer, this look is perfect for brides looking to make a sophisticated, unconventional statement.

Arm as the Focal Point: A Frame for Grace
Typically, bridal fashion emphasizes the waist, back, or neckline, but this year, designers are shifting the focus to the arms.
“The arms are to the bodice in the same way a frame is to a masterpiece,” says Deborah. “So, to give the arms the attention to detail helps make the masterpiece of the dress even more priceless.”

Cap Veils Are Bringing 20s Glamour Back
A resurgence of vintage-inspired bridal accessories is afoot, with the Juliet cap veil making a standout appearance. A nod to the glamour of the 1920s and 1930s, this delicate yet striking headpiece is being reimagined for the modern bride, blending intricate craftsmanship with contemporary elegance.
Long-Sleeved Shrug: A Dramatic Transformation
For brides who want the best of both worlds—sleeves and sleeveless—long-sleeved shrugs are the ultimate layering piece. These delicate additions offer coverage and elegance for the ceremony while allowing for an easy transition to a more relaxed look at the reception.
“Long-sleeved shrugs usually are structured with a high-neck collar, and donning these over a strapless gown instantly gives the whole look the drama it needs to complement a venue of similar prestige—like a historical church or a baroque mansion,” says Deborah.
This year’s Rome Bridal Week proves that bridal fashion is evolving with an emphasis on personalization, power, and versatility. As Deborah eloquently puts it, “Each of these trends is not just about style, but about telling a unique story—one that reflects the bride’s essence and transforms her wedding day into a deeply personal masterpiece.”
