As co-founder ofĀ Bling Advisor,Ā a Black female-founded jewelry company with over 30+ years of experience, weāve seen many trends take shape with custom, fine, and engagement jewelry! Engagement season is upon us, and with more consumers preferring alternative styles this year, we are seeing six celebrity-inspired trends when it comes to engagement rings and believe they will be big in 2023:
Two-stone (āToi-et-Moiā Engagement Rings)
From Megan Foxās pear-cut diamond and emerald ring that nearly broke the internet, to Ariana Grandeās oval-cut diamond and pearl ring, to Kylie Jennerās pear and radiant cut two-stone diamond ring, two-stone rings are becoming very popular with our customers (our oval and pear 2-stone ring is among our best selling styles and pricing starts at $2995+)Ā
Chunky, Thick-band Rings
First popularized by Emily Ratajkowski who had a 2-stone engagement ring on a thick band, this style has been seen on many red carpets by celebrities such as Rihanna, Fergie, and Meghan Markle. The outdated trend of micro-thin bands has now been replaced by androgynous, thicker-metal bands that are more unique and durable, and weāve seen this first hand with the popularity of our chunky multi-stone engagement ring.Ā
Non-diamond Engagement Rings
First popularized by Elizabeth Taylor, sapphire rings and non-diamond engagement rings have been seen on Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Middleton, Katy Perry, and other celebrities. This trend has only continued, and this year we are seeing a significant increase in customers asking for non-traditional stones and metalsāspecifically for sapphire rings and rose gold bands. Itās no wonder why our pink and blue sapphire halo ring is a customerās favorite and are customizable with other colored gemstones and metals.
Custom Engagement Rings
Custom engagement rings have been the standard for celebrities for decades now but celebrities like Simone Biles and Romee Strijd’s custom-designed engagement rings really stood out this year. While many consumers have seen companies offer what some consider to be “custom engagement rings” by offering a ring builder where you’re able to pick a diamond and pre-existing setting, a few online companies like Bling Advisor custom engagement ringsĀ are offering clients a completely custom experience. This means you’re able to design your ring entirely from scratch and if you have 4, 5, or more engagement ringĀ inspirationĀ pictures saved in Pinterest that you love you can incorporate aspectsĀ from each picture into your ring and design your ring entirely to your specifications with a very personalized experience. Designing a completely custom engagement ring instead of buying a pre-made ring off the shelf has been exploding in popularity in recent years and will continue to do so into 2023.
Fancy-cut Diamonds
Lana Condor, Jodie Sweetin, Avril Lavigne, and Sofia Richie are a few of the celebrities that chose fancy-cut diamonds for their engagement rings this year. We are seeing a lot of ovals, pears and emerald-cut diamonds in the custom engagement rings clients are designing this year as well as seeing rings like our Oval diamond hidden halo peekaboo engagement ring flying out of our online shop.Ā
Green Gemstone Engagement Rings
Green is going to be one of the top gemstone colors consumers choose this year for their alternative engagement ring including emeralds, tsavorite garnets, and tourmalines. Jennifer Lopez is one of the biggest celebrities this year that started the trend with her 8.5ct natural green diamond engagement ring. OurĀ Tsavorite garnet and diamond engagement ringĀ has been very popular with clients this year.Ā
