Every year there are approximately 2.5 million weddings in the U.S. alone. The Green Bride Guide states that the average wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage and 63 tons of CO2. Needless to say, weddings aren’t always the kindest to Mother Earth. So, how do you as a future bride or groom change that? By choosing eco-friendly alternatives for a number of your wedding elements. For example, you could select stationery made of recycled materials, opt for flowers native to your destination, use vintage pieces in your decor, or even take on a DIY decor project with upcycled materials.

This Earth Day we wanted to give a special spotlight to a brewing company that prioritizes sustainable practices at every step of its production process:

Super neat, right? Whether you choose a Firestone Walker beer to serve at your wedding or not, they ask you to join them in making careful, sustainable choices as a consumer.
