In the world of weddings, elopements have become an increasingly popular option for couples looking to tie the knot in an intimate and romantic setting. For photographer Isabella Rodriguez and her friend/peer Valerie Sarron, the inspiration behind their styled shoot was to showcase what an elopement in Paris could look like and inspire future couples to take the leap themselves. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the stunning results of their collaboration, which features a dreamy pastel color palette, breathtaking florals, and some of the most iconic locations in the City of Love. Let’s dive in and explore this beautiful editorial, as captured through the lens of Isabella.
How it Started
My friend Valerie, who is also a photographer, and I wanted couples to see what an elopement in Paris would look like, and feel inspired to elope themselves. And, we wanted to inspire future couples to immerse themselves in the magic of some of Paris’s most iconic spots. So we gathered an amazing group of wedding vendors to make our idea come to life.
The Inspiration
We were inspired by french architecture and the patterns seen in nature, so we designed an editorial that overflowed with dreamy pastel colors and romantic textures. We opted for a delicate palette of soft pastel hues and floral details which perfectly matched the atmosphere of Paris’s emblematic Jardin des Tuileries.
The Vendor Team
We had an amazing team! The wedding dress by Diego Cerón Bridal played a major part in the design of this elopement editorial. With floral motifs and ethereal details, this jaw-dropping gown exudes femininity. Esperanza Atelier was inspired by old-world romance and Parisian buildings to craft a tailor-made stationery suite in delicate pastel tones. Exquise Design created an absolutely delightful bridal bouquet with flirty and whimsical textures. And our talented makeup and hair artist, Larissa Werneck, opted for a clean and refined look for our bride with natural makeup that accentuated our bride’s lovely features and an elegant ponytail perfect for a modern romantic bride.
Favorite Part of the Shoot
Showing off Paris. I feel that everywhere you look you see beauty. Every corner, every little café, every building is, in its own special way, a piece of artistry. There’s truly no other place like Paris.
A little bit on the story/narrative behind our editorial:
Our day starts with our bride walking just by the Ritz Paris at Place Vendôme. She’ll soon meet her future husband for her wedding ceremony which will take place at one of the most special spots in Paris, Jardin des Tuileries. While on her way, she decides to take a quick detour at Maison Ladurée for some macarons and pastries. When she arrives, the groom is already there waiting for her ready for this intimate celebration of their love. This is the place where they’ll exchange their vows for the life they’re going to build together.
After this special exchange of vows, our new husband and wife decide to stroll around the beautiful gardens and enjoy the striking fountain and statues. Then they finish their celebration by taking their couple portraits at the magnificent Louvre Museum. Its iconic architecture serves as the perfect location for some unforgettable portraits that will last a lifetime.
