If you’re looking for inspiration for your upcoming English countryside wedding, look no further than AMV Retreats‘ latest styled shoot. As a destination wedding planner and workshop host, Amanda of AMV Weddings pulled out all the stops for her UK workshop this year, featuring two stunning, styled weddings. Among them was Lily and Ed’s, a beautifully executed castle wedding display. Despite not being a real couple, models Lily and Ed’s chemistry was palpable, thanks to their excellent acting skills. Read on to hear from both AMV Weddings and photographer, Dana of Destinations with Dana, on how this romantic English countryside wedding was brought to life.

From the planning team:

“Set on the spectacular grounds of De Vere Tortworth Court, the primary inspiration for this shoot was a regal, elegant English Countryside Wedding with a classic white and green palette,” AMV Retreats says. “The ceremony was hosted in the orangery of the estate which featured stunning natural lighting coming in from the glass-enclosed domes of the ceiling overhead. Our statement ceremony arch was designed to compliment the stone arches of the space, with lush florals growing up from the floor on either side of the primary structure. The reception was set in the circular gardens of the estate, where we created a round table that wrapped perfectly around the garden and was completed by the bride and groom’s table situated directly in front of the breathtaking manor house. This statement reception set-up featured an elegant tablescape of white florals by The Botany House and a Bridgerton-inspired cake fit for royalty!”

Our radiant bride Lily wore a gown from the Alon Livne 2022 Collection. This line was inspired by sculptor Carmen Otero & the world of minimalist art, using waves and geometry to redefine beauty, specifically the natural shapes of the human body in abstract silhouettes. This look fit perfectly amidst the regal, yet relaxed atmosphere of the English countryside. To complete their celebration, the bride and groom were whisked away in a classic British 1958 post-production convertible through the beautiful stone entryway of the estate!”

From the photographer:

“The team of vendors worked countless hours to put this all together. I myself was truly impressed with all that came about. The vendors started the night before. I remember going to dinner and seeing them put together this floral arch at around 11 pm, then they were up the following morning, at the crack of dawn, setting up the reception table, getting the cake ready, etc. I have never seen such great teamwork and in all, it was worth it!

It will be hard to mention [one favorite part] as I have a few. My first favorite part of the shoot was the teamwork. I love meeting new people and socializing. So, meeting the vendors who put this together, the group of photographers I was with, and of course our models Lily and Ed. I just loved getting to talk with them, learn more about them, and now support their accounts. The second favorite was getting to work with two educators (Andreas and Sophie) and learning more about posing and framing but still also being creative and shooting/posing our own as well. Some of my favorite moments created and captured to date were what I was coached to do at this workshop, and getting to learn from them was a blessing. The last favorite thing from this was simply capturing the couple. They were so dang adorable, did a wonderful job acting as a couple, and now I have all these beautiful images to showcase!”
