The outskirts of Paris became the enchanting backdrop for a photo shoot that would capture the essence of timeless wedding design. Photographer Lisette Gatliff masterfully captured every moment. Read on to learn why, through Lisette’s lens, the Chateau de Champlatreux emerged as a picturesque setting for a summer wedding inspiration in the French countryside.

“With French Baroque elements giving life to the monument, the chateau stands out against the manicured green lawns. Finely carved caricature stonework and glass panel windows lend beauty to the exteriors. The ornate design elements from the past centuries further add an antique feel to the chateau. It was breathtaking to see how gorgeously the building shone against the sunshine. Coupled with its natural warm hue, the Chateau de Champlatreux is truly a photographer’s delight.

When it came to the wedding design elements, the planners did a phenomenal job of weaving in pastels to bring out the summer feel. You could notice a consistent theme of pinks and lilacs in almost all design elements – the flowers, cake, and tableware. The wedding invites were blush pink with golden calligraphy, which looked beautiful and luxurious. The touch of gold tied the design elements together — whether through the golden spoons across the porcelain plates or as gold foil accents on the 4-tier ivory white cake.

Dressed in a styled gown ensemble, the bride looked stunning in a white taffeta, puff-sleeve gown. The make-up artists at Sunkissed & Made Up left no stone unturned when styling her. They ensured the bride’s make-up complemented her dress by giving her a minimalist look, bold eyes, and a loose bun. The groom was in a Stitch & Tie black tux. The white shirt, checkered tie, and pastel flowers pinned to the pocket tied the look for him. The couple’s attire blended seamlessly with the overall theme of the wedding.

I took pictures of the couple at locations where the background complemented their attire the most. So, for the bride, I took solo shots at the beautifully decorated floral pillars in front of the glass panel windows. The white of her gown, the lilac of the flowers, the reflective glass, and the forest green of the leaves formed a harmonious color palette. Results? Some breathtaking pictures!

For the portraits of the groom, I used natural lighting to the fullest. Since his tux was darker, I sought to bring in the light through the beige color of the chateau behind him.

The Chateau de Champlatreux set the perfect stage for a summer-themed wedding in Paris.”
