To mark the start of Pride Month 2025, planner and designer Cybelle Maalouf of Kiveli Weddings partnered with photographer Constantinos Oikonomou and a talented team of creatives to produce a pair of styled shoots that honor both the Mediterranean lifestyle and the beauty of LGBTQ+ love. Featuring two brides and set along the untamed coastline of Greece, the editorial blends natural textures, quiet luxury, and cultural depth in a celebration of meaningful design.
What began as a coffee meeting between Cybelle and Constantinos turned into a full-scale creative collaboration. “He was genuinely drawn to our style and was eager to create a styled shoot together—so we brought the idea to life,” Cybelle shares. “I created the concept for the shoots and put together the magic makers team.”
With a shared passion for authenticity, the team leaned into the raw beauty of a wild Greek beach for The Ethereal Affair. Here, nature wasn’t just a backdrop—it was an active design element. “There’s something hauntingly beautiful about a wild beach,” Maalouf says. “The way the wind sculpts the sand, the sea breathes in and out, and nature writes its own script.”
The circular table, reminiscent of a wedding band, featured a hollow center filled with dried florals and fresh greenery—symbolizing the union of past and present. Twisted, bare candles lined the sand-kissed table, representing the unpredictable path of marriage. Escort cards carried names from real-life wedding guests around the globe, nodding to Kiveli Weddings’ multicultural ethos.
And then there were the brides—Allegra Pomilio and Krystallia Tsonou—captured in a windswept moment of quiet joy and strength. The shoot felt like more than just wedding inspiration. “The Ethereal Affair isn’t just an inspiration,” Maalouf reflects. “It’s a moment where nature and symbolism collide.”
The Timeless Glow, the second shoot in the series, offered a striking contrast: a golden-hour dinner scene nestled near a quaint seaside port. Inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, the tablescape was lush with Greek olives, rosemary, clams, oysters, and even a lobster—all returned to the sea post-shoot in line with the team’s sustainable values.
“A long table dressed in crisp white linen stretched across the shoreline, flanked by unified benches that symbolized two families blending into one,” Maalouf shares. The glowing setting—both figuratively and literally—mirrored the couple’s radiant bond. “The concept centered on glowing tables and seating, reflecting the radiant connection of a new couple.”
The decision to highlight a same-sex couple was a heartfelt expression of the team’s values. “For this shoot, we highlighted a same-sex couple to celebrate our commitment to inclusivity as a company,” says Maalouf.
This level of intention was echoed by every vendor involved. From the delicately designed florals by Anthea Floral Design to the sustainable seafood artistry by Olon Events, each contributor added their unique magic. “This project was a true collaboration, with every partner pouring their heart and soul into bringing it to life,” Maalouf says. “We’re already dreaming up new projects together in the near future.”
“The creative process is always the most challenging—and our favorite—part of any project,” she adds. “It was all about assembling the puzzle pieces to make everything feel effortless while highlighting the style we love most.”
With Pride Month kicking off, this editorial stands as a visual love letter to freedom, connection, and design without compromise. It’s an ode to the wild, to the timeless, and to the beauty of a wedding that is wholly, unapologetically yours.
Couples planning their destination weddings can take a page from this shoot—whether it’s embracing sustainability, prioritizing inclusivity, or simply letting the landscape lead the way. In Maalouf’s words: “The goal was to show that beauty can be found in the simplest things and focus on the Mediterranean lifestyle.”
On this first day of Pride Month, may this editorial serve as a reminder that love—in all its forms—is always worth celebrating.
