If you aren’t quite confident flying yet and/or simply don’t have it in the budget to fly across the country or the world, you are in luck! We are sharing tips on how to effectively scout out venues from the comfort of your home. To help us do so, we have recruited executives from five stunning properties in far places to weigh in on what to look for when web browsing.

  1. Make Sure They Have Several Venue Options So Weather Won’t Rain on Your Parade

“Always have an alternative venue with a roof at your destination readily available. You never know when the rain will come. That day is just too important to have it spoiled by rain,” Alma Resort’s events director Vu Thi Huong Giang says.

  1. Look Out for Virtual Tours and Take Them

Banyan Tree Samui’s Romance Concierge, Pawadee Sangthamrong, says that the best way to feel like you are there is to take their 360 virtual tour. Can’t you just see yourself tanning on the beach getting that wedding day glow? That’s what virtual reality does for you!

Another resort offering virtual tours is LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, FL. “Our resort is constantly innovating our services to create pleasant and convenient experiences for our guests,” said Linda Menshon, Director of Marketing and Sales.

  1. Make Sure There Will Be Enough to Keep You & Your Guests Entertained

Fun activities can turn a great destination wedding into a legendary one. Keep an eye out for the resort’s offerings – especially those that can be tailored to fit guests’ preferences. For example, Hotel Melia, Koh Samui offers many options including a “romantic candle-lit dinner for two on the beach, breakfast in bed with bubbles, an indulgent spa treatment for two at the YHI Spa, cooking classes, yoga classes and even Muay Thai classes,” sales and events manager, Thepchula Loyjiw says.

  1. Observe the Property’s Stylistic Choices

Pay close attention to detail in photos. Since it is very important for you to find a venue with an atmosphere that you like, only detail can give you that “ah-ha” feeling. “It is important for couples to imagine the faces of their guests and think about whether the venue would be a good place for their guests to relax in,” says Miki Kirihara, Weddings Team Manager at Palace Hotel Tokyo.

  1. Ask if the Property is Offering Any Special Wedding/Honeymoon Deals

Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana says their buyout package is the best deal offered for wedding couples to ensure a truly memorable wedding with their dearest friends and family. This is true for many properties around the globe as well. You can also always see about any honeymoon package deals to extend your stay and enjoy more activities abroad.

Now that you have some great exclusive tips from the experts, it’s time to confidently hop online and find your perfect destination wedding venue!
