Set against the backdrop of a stunning French castle, Jane Handles Weddings orchestrated a dreamy, intimate fall wedding styled shoot. The occasion at Château Les Carrasses in the South of France showcases wedding trends, rich textures, and a quintessentially French aesthetic.

“We took inspiration from the setting itself,” Jane explains. “Château Les Carrasses is a beautiful castle in wine country, and a producer of wines, too. The venue overlooks many acres of vineyards.” It was the vineyards, the architecture, and the countryside that became the heartbeat of this editorial.

A wedding dress hangs on a door, alongside ornate wedding invitations and flatware, with a bouquet of pastel flowers placed on a chair.

French-Inspired Color Palette

Jane and her team embraced the colors of the surrounding landscape, creating a palette that felt effortlessly elegant. “We pulled in a quintessentially French color palette of blues and creams, and mixed in shades of apricot to add a more autumnal warmth,” Jane says.

“We wanted to honor a classic, timeless romance, with playful elements that celebrate color,” Jane adds. This idea translated into everything from the blush hue of the groom’s jacket to golden accents that infused a touch of modernity and luxury throughout the setting.

Ceremony Among the Vines

The ceremony setting was as romantic as the château itself, featuring a mix of soft blush, apricot, and peach tones that harmonized beautifully with greenery-rich florals. The focal point was the ceremony arch, adorned with clusters of grapes—a nod to the vineyards just beyond.

“Ieva of Amie Ziedi incorporated these grapes even in the ceremony arches, tucking them into the greenery,” Jane recalls. This playful yet meaningful detail paid homage to the local environment, while still exuding elegance.

Château Les Carrasses’ charming greenhouse played a central role in the shoot’s design. “Ma Plume Design created a 2-D version of this greenhouse for the Save the Date,” says Jane.

The stationery, adorned with hand-drawn birds and grape vines, added a layer of intricate detail that was reflected in the ceremony space, further connecting each design element to the château’s essence.

Elevated Reception Overlooking the Vineyards

For the reception, which took place on the château’s roof deck, the design continued to lean into the blues and creams. Jane’s team worked with Ma Plume Design, again, to create a bespoke hand-drawn pattern of birds and grape vines that became a signature motif of the day. This pattern appeared throughout the invitation suite, the tablecloth, napkins, and even the bride’s getting-ready robe.

“Golden elements tied the whole design together,” Jane explains. From the foil-pressed invitations to the golden silverware, every touch added to the understated luxury. The unseasonably warm November weather meant the couple could enjoy their meal as the sun set over the vineyards, surrounded by songbirds.

A Timeless Celebration

This styled shoot at Château Les Carrasses was more than just a wedding inspiration, but an homage to the romance of French countryside weddings, where timeless elegance meets playful, modern design. Jane concludes, “We wanted to create something that felt like an eternal love story, set in a place that naturally feels timeless.” With thoughtful details like grape-laden florals and bespoke stationery, Jane and her team certainly captured that vision.
