Hailing from England and Scotland, respectively, Elise and Johnny knew that the stunning Swiss Alps would be the ideal backdrop for their union.

Renowned destination wedding photographer, Brianna Vögeli, had the honor of capturing every precious moment of Elise and Johnny’s special day. “I was so excited when Elise and Johnny reached out to photograph their destination wedding in Wengen, Switzerland,” Brianna shared. “Elise is from England and Johnny is from Scotland, but they wanted to have their wedding here in the Alps.”

Wengen, Switzerland held a special place in the couple’s hearts. Elise had spent a significant part of her childhood in this picturesque town, creating cherished memories amidst the stunning mountainous landscapes. Moreover, it was in Wengen that Johnny had knelt down on one knee and proposed, making the destination even more sentimental. “As really outdoorsy and sporty people, they also love hiking and exploring the mountains, and visiting Wengen whenever they can,” Brianna says.

A destination wedding holds a unique allure, not just for the couple, but for all the guests who travel from different parts of the world to join in the celebration. Brianna shared her thoughts on capturing such events: “It’s always a special feeling to be able to capture a destination wedding. With the couple and all the guests coming from abroad, there is always so much fun and excitement in the air. Just knowing that everyone traveled so far to celebrate with them must make it feel so special!”

On the wedding day itself, anticipation and joy filled the air. Nature seemed to join in the celebration, as the forecast predicted rain, but the clouds miraculously parted just in time for the couple’s photoshoot. The result was breathtaking views of the majestic mountains and the mesmerizing Lauterbrunnen valley below. It was as if the universe conspired to bless Elise and Johnny’s love with the gift of a perfect backdrop.

Following the intimate couple photoshoot, the celebration commenced at the historical Hotel Falken, where heartfelt and hilarious speeches resounded. Loved ones from across the globe had gathered to honor the couple’s love story, sharing touching anecdotes and memories that brought tears of joy and laughter to everyone present.
