For Alexis and Michael, choosing The Bahamas for their wedding wasnt just about postcard-perfect beaches or turquoise horizons; it was about honoring a deeply personal connection to a place that had long felt like home. With many family trips to the islands, Alexis grew up watching sunrises from Bahamian shores and celebrating milestones beneath its cloudless skies. When the couple searched for a setting that could hold both their love story and the weight of cherished memories, the decision came easily: a multi-day celebration at the iconic Potlatch Club in Governors Harbour, Eleuthera. Expert destination wedding planner, Marva Munroe, and owner of Chic Bahamas Weddings & Events, made sure that the entire process was stress-free and totally seamless.

The Potlatch Clubs effortless blend of barefoot luxury and historic charm set the tone for a wedding weekend that felt intimate yet grand in spirit. Guests arrived to warm ocean breezes, whitewashed cottages, and sweeping views of the Atlantic, providing an immediate shift from everyday life into island time. The relaxed elegance of the boutique resort created the perfect atmosphere for what was designed not as a single ceremony, but as a layered experience of connection, rest, and celebration.

Festivities included sunset celebrations by the water, where the bride wore a stunning ocean blue PatBo maxi, and the groom wore a bespoke suit by Mark Russell Custom Clothing. The sound of laughter mingled with waves crashing beyond the shore, instantly establishing the tone for the days ahead: joyful, unhurried, and deeply personal. The easy flow of the weekend allowed for all the guests to feel like they were experiencing their own vacations.

On the wedding day, the Potlatch Club revealed its full magic. Soft sea breezes brushed through the palms as Alexis prepared with her closest loved ones in one of the resorts sun-washed suites. Her look balanced modern simplicity with romantic touches. Her Leah Da Gloria gown paired perfectly with a veil from Galia Lahav, shoes by Manolo Blahnik and Tiffany & Co. earrings. Michael matched her vibe in a black tie ensemble by Mark Russell Custom Clothing, a custom Italian bow tie by Tie Your Tie Florence, Tuscany, cuff links by Tiffany & Co, and a vintage Omega sea master watch.

Their ceremony unfolded with the historic St. Patrick’s church as the backdrop. Alexis walked toward Michael, who was flanked on either side of the altar with delicate white florals that perfectly complemented the church’s decor. The couple exchanged vows in front of an intimate group, their words drawing tears and smiles in equal measure.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for drinks on the lawn at the Potlatch Club, where the island light turned golden, and the celebratory mood deepened. Dinner and dancing followed beneath softly glowing lights, with tables adorned in elegant floral arrangements that embraced the venues understated sophistication. A live band carried the evening from heartfelt to high-energy, filling the dance floor.

For Alexis and Michael, the joy of watching their closest circle connect so effortlessly was just as meaningful as the wedding itself.

The celebrations continued into the weekend, allowing guests to fully experience the rhythm of Eleutheras slower pace. For the bride and her family, returning to The Bahamas felt like a beautiful full-circle moment, transforming a lifelong love of the islands into the setting for an entirely new beginning.

At the Potlatch Club, Alexis and Michael didnt just get married; they created a shared island memory that will live on for many years to come. And to have the expert planning of Marva Munroe of Chic Bahamas Weddings allowed them to feel like guests at their own wedding.
