From liking each other’s profile to swiping right, Bumble’s perfect match is what led Brenna and Pete to each other. After Pete double-texted Brenna, the couple’s relationship took off, and they’d soon find themselves in Tuscany for their nuptials.
Brenna and Pete wanted their wedding to be a reflection of their love and personalities. They began considering a wedding overseas because it would be a unique and memorable experience for the couple and their family members.
“The main complaint I hear from people at their wedding is that they don’t remember it, and it goes by too fast,” Brenna says. “So I thought, why not make everyone spend three whole days together in Tuscany?! We will definitely remember that!”
Castello di Ristonchi, set amongst Italy’s rolling hills, appealed to the couple for several reasons: its sustainable practices, the ability to stay on-property and the all-inclusive wedding package offering. Brenna and Pete knew they wanted to spend a few days in Tuscany with their family before the big day, and Castello di Ristonchi would prove to be the perfect place for a multi-day gathering.
The only setback in the couple’s planning process was their lack of familiarity with the region. Particularly, finding transportation to and from the venue proved stressful. Thankfully, the venue took care of things like decorations and wedding arrangements, so the couple could spend their efforts buttoning up travel logistics.
“Our dream was to have all the people we loved in one place,” Brenna says.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived, the group enjoyed all Castello di Ristonchi had on offer, including activities like a pasta-making class, pizza-making, a karaoke night and a yoga class.
“We had a truly authentic Italian experience with everyone bonding over the amazing food (Hello, butter and sage ravioli!) and shared activities,” the couple says.
On the wedding day, Brenna and Pete made sure to incorporate the people there as much as possible into the celebration. Pete’s brother-in-law put together an arrangement for “Dreams” by the Cranberries on guitar to walk down the aisle to, and one of Brenna’s close friends officiated. For the couple’s first dance, three of the bride’s friends performed an acoustic version of “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap.
Despite the typical stressors of planning an event abroad, Brenna and Pete knew it was all worth it for an idyllic castle wedding in Tuscany.
“Once you are there, it truly is all about you and your partner and sharing your love with family and friends,” Brenna says.
