It’s day two of our Destination: X week dedicated to all things North Carolina. Like we’ve mentioned before, Destination I Do doesn’t feature any destination or property in our magazine that someone from our team hasn’t personally visited. We’ve visited a handful of places throughout the state – ranging from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Crystal Coast. Today we’re highlighting the hip, misty mountain setting of Asheville. Aside from being famous for its fall foliage and craft brewery scene, it’s almost home to the incredible Biltmore Estate. A must-see if you’re in the area. The gardens alone are worth the visit!
When it comes to a place to lay your head, we can strongly recommend a cozy stay at The Omni Grove Park Inn. Don’t let its stony façade fool you. Just within the ornate front doors you’ll find roaring fireplaces big enough to stand in and rocking chairs just waiting for you to take a seat. Set on a ridge overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance, it’s hard to imagine a more romantic setting. The rooms have been renovated within the last few years and we can personally attest to the amazing artisanal breakfast buffet at Blue Ridge…Omni Grove Park Inn was rocking a donut wall well before it was popular! For a romantic, outdoor rehearsal dinner, Sunset Terrace can’t be beat.
Whether you’re visiting Asheville for your destination wedding or honeymoon, a day at The Spa at The Omni Grove Park Inn is an absolute can’t miss. Be sure to call ahead to reserve a day pass if you aren’t staying on-property. I’ve visited spas the world over and, even years later, I can’t say enough about the spa here. This 43,000 square-foot spa is in a class of its own. The subterranean spa features rock walls, arches and tunnels. Most impressive are the cavernous mineral pools with calming music below the water and thousands of fiber-optic stars above.
Best of all, this Asheville gem caters to love. Below, you’ll find a tempting, romantic package and some of the more popular options for a couples spa escape.
