Embracing pristine white sands and shimmering, crystal-clear waters, Melissa and Anthony discovered their dream wedding oasis along the shores of Vietnam. With the gentle lull of the waves as their backdrop, the couple envisioned a vibrant beach celebration that not only captured the essence of their love but also paid homage to their Vietnamese heritage.
“We thought it would be special to go back to our heritage/motherland to celebrate with all our friends and family,” Melissa explained.
Phu Quoc was the perfect destination for Melissa and Anthony as they were immediately drawn to the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach resort. The venue offered everything they could have wanted: A beautiful beachfront location with extensive amenities that allowed their guests to fully enjoy their stay in this romantic paradise.
Melissa and Anthony worked with Saigon-based wedding planners, The Planners VN to help them orchestrate their celebration. One of the first things the couple did at the beginning of their planning was to secure a wedding block at the resort and created a comprehensive wedding website that provided essential information.
With a focus on elegance and timelessness, their wedding designer Natalie crafted a sophisticated aesthetic by using neutral colors and fresh flowers that complemented Phu Quoc’s natural beauty.
The wedding day started with dragon dancers and a traditional tea ceremony where Melissa and Anthony paid respect to their families and received blessings for their marriage. The ceremony space transformed into a backdrop of reds and greenery creating an atmosphere of romance and tradition. After the tea ceremony, guests gathered for an intimate beach ceremony where a striking white aisle led to a floral arch surrounded by palm trees.
For couples that are considering a destination wedding in Asia, Vietnam offers significant advantages. “Vietnam is a great place to have a wedding as costs are substantially more affordable than a wedding in Canada or North America,” Melissa and Anthony noted. At the same time, they stress the value of clear communication. “Don’t be afraid to follow up with lots of questions, especially if your planner is from a different country.”
By choosing Phu Quoc as their destination, Melissa and Anthony created a meaningful cultural journey that honored both their love and heritage.
