Shaz and Jason shared an elegant destination wedding along the beautiful beaches of the Bahamas. “The ceremony location was just breathtaking and we had seen it before so we knew instantly that was where we wanted to say ‘I do,’” says Shaz.

“The reception [was held at] an old, vintage restaurant/hotel and the event coordinator was a good friend of ours, so it just made sense to have it at this beautiful, elegant venue,” says Shaz.

The bride wanted a dress that reflected the elegance of her wedding day. “I knew I wanted something tight and fitted, sexy but still elegant and romantic,” says the bride. “I wore a trumpet style gown in silk chiffon that had layers of thin beautiful material. It was tight until the knees and then flared out to create an architectural look. The only thing I needed was a pop of bling, which I decided would be the belt. I wanted to make sure the gown was airy to go with our romantic theme.”

The bride also incorporated the love of her family into her wardrobe for the special day. “Something borrowed and blue was my mother’s blue topaz and diamond set,” says Shaz. Something new was a silver bangle given to me by my mother-in-law. Something old was Jason’s baby ring in gold with his initial on the heart; it fit my pinky finger perfectly since my fingers are super tiny.”

The décor was stunning and the simplistic elegance was beautiful. “I wanted the colors to be soft, airy and romantic with a hint of blue, which was [incorporated in] the mason jars the flowers were placed in,” says Shaz.

“All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was,” says Shaz. “When we chose Graycliff we knew it was one of the only 5-star restaurants in Nassau and we didn’t even do a tasting because we knew it would be great.”

“We did all the planning with the help of friends and family members in Nassau, says the bride. “I had 1.5 years from being engaged and it still went by really, really fast. Just do, don’t think you have time.”

Love was definitely in the air at this elegantly romantic destination wedding.

“Picture after picture it was just breathtaking how [Taylor Roades Photography] was able to capture the mood and essence and the personality of our wedding,” says the bride.

Shaz’s Tip:
“Enjoy every moment of your wedding. I made a conscious effort to not stress and really be present and I had so much fun. I remember every interaction, every detail, every conversation and in the end those memories are what you will remember, not the nitty-gritty details.”
