After vacationing together in Cabo, Brittany and Stephen fell in love with everything the laid-back city by the ocean had to offer.

“The beach, the food, the culture – it is one of our favorite places to be,” the couple says.

When it came time to begin planning their wedding, the couple could think of nowhere else they’d rather begin forever together than Cabo. But, they didn’t want to do it alone, and the idea of sharing the beautiful experience with friends and family sounded too fun to pass up.

“Everyone was very excited about our decision to have our wedding in Cabo… until the pandemic hit,” Brittany says. “There was a lot of uncertainty and fear of travel and eventually we had to postpone the date.”

Sadly, the couple couldn’t have as many family members in attendance they wanted due to heightened risks. To keep those who could be there at ease, the couple’s local planning team went into action, keeping the bride and groom informed, which helped build back the confidence of friends and family making the journey down south.

“We did site visits at many of the resorts in the area,” the couple says. “We chose Solaz because of the overall style, architecture, food, and price. The way they stayed true to the Cabo landscape was especially lovely. The service was warm and accommodating every time we visited the property and felt like a home away from home.”

Solidifying the deal for the couple were the suite options available at Solaz. This meant guests could room together if they liked, which would make the cost of the trip more affordable for everyone.

Once the details of their re-planning process started to come together, the couple began focusing on including personalized aspects to their special day.

“Stephen designed our own logo that combined our initials, and we incorporated it throughout the wedding,” the bride says. “My favorite use of the logo was burning the brand on our garnish fruit peels for our signature drinks.”

The weekend of the wedding finally arrived, and all of the couple’s guests flew in a few days before the special day to take part in the pre-wedding festivities.

“Having everyone travel from afar, we made sure to host a welcome party and opened up the rehearsal dinner to all of our guests,” Brittany says. “And we couldn’t leave out the fireworks!”

After a lovely day of sunshine, chuppahs, “I do’s” and fireworks, the couple couldn’t have imagined their wedding any other way.

For couples currently in the planning process, Stephen and Brittany advise making a list of the top “must-haves” for your day and to make those decisions first. For them, hiring the best live local band was a must (after hiring their wedding planner, that was the first contract the couple got signed.)

“We wish all of the couples that are getting married a beautiful and unforgettable experience like we had,” the pair says.
