When Bobbie and Kevin envisioned themselves at the altar, they knew exactly the destination they would choose. The vibrant and magical town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico at Casa Adela was just what this couple needed for their chic wedding.

Finding a wedding planner that could bring their vision to reality really helped the process go 1smoothly. Having someone to organize the logistics of things such as permits and vendors made the planning such an enjoyable process. “The hardest part was making final decisions on things such as food and decor because everything we were shown was so beautiful!” says the bride.

The easiest part about selecting their destination city was looking for a town rich in Mexican culture to celebrate Kevin’s heritage. Scrolling through inspiring photos on Instagram, they found a place that called to them. San Miguel de Allende is a city steeped in history and art. With its cobblestone streets and buildings dating all the way back to the 16th Century, it was sure to be a place that encompassed all of the things this young couple was looking for. After settling on the city, the search was on for the perfect venue.

Having their top priority in mind when choosing their vendors expedited the process. For Bobbie and Kevin, their most important aspect was supporting local vendors and having a fun party atmosphere, so their focus was on food, drinks and entertainment. Letting vendors have creative freedom paid off as their aesthetic ended up being beautiful and cohesive. The team of incredible vendors came together effortlessly. Asking some of them for recommendations brought together a crew of businesses who not only worked together in the past but worked very well together to make the event go smoothly. Not only this, but it was evident in the mood they set that this team enjoyed what they did, which brought comfort to the party.

Finding a place for their festivities that both gave a sense of closeness and privacy and could also host the wedding party was a top priority. Casa Adela in the Sierra Nevada mountains had a luxe, yet rustic vibe that perfectly matches a wedding of this style. Sitting on eight acres of natural desert beauty, the hacienda gives a whole new meaning to the word stylish.

“We loved the intimate feel of Casa Adela and the idea of it being so private while still accommodating our wedding party who stayed there,” says the bride. “Having our favorite people stay with us made it even more fun and truly felt like one big sleepover that lasted 4 days!”. Since the guests made an effort to travel the distance for the wedding, the bride and groom hosted a welcome party just a couple of days before the big day to be able to connect with their loved ones.

The Main Event

An array of orange, white and burgundy flowers lined the ceremony arch and sat atop the tables at the reception. The choice of putting poppies, mums, garden roses and daisies together complemented the natural beauty of the architecture and the grounds. As the bride walked outside across the saltillo tiles to her groom, her gorgeous gown made by Sarah Seven was a vision of elegance. For the reception, the tasteful palette of copper and gold against the wooden farmer’s tables brought the look together. Traditionally in Mexican culture, a mariachi group would serenade the bride and groom and play songs to keep the party going, and that’s just what they did! Dancing the night away with friends, family and the disco ball of their dreams, the party went on until 3 AM!

Asking the bride for advice on how to make the planning process smoother, she had this to say, “Do not be afraid to reach out to other people you find on social media who have had weddings there as well to hear about their experience first hand…[also] making a trip before the wedding also allows you to meet with vendors, see your venue, and let the excitement build for your big day in your special destination!”
