Everyone knows or has heard of the play/movie “Grease.” Remember how Danny and Sandy fell in love during the summer on the beach, spending hours playing in the sun and talking the days away? Well, couple Eva and Andrew just might have the real-life “Grease” love story. The two met as teenagers on the coast of Maine at a summer camp in Christmas Cove. Sparks flew immediately. Little did the teenagers know, they’d hold their destination wedding not far from the cove in Pemaquid Point, Maine years later. 

“We chose Fort William Henry because we wanted to find a spot overlooking the water. We loved the views and we were really lucky it didn’t rain, because we did not love our ‘plan B,’” Eva says.

“Plan A” needed a planner, since the couple would be conducting the majority of their wedding arrangements from California. Sarah Goodwin quickly became the pair’s “planner and life coach all rolled into one,” according to the bride. 

To have a little fun with the process, the couple asked for help on a few DIY projects. The bride’s artistic friend took on the first project of menus for the reception, painting and writing them by hand. The second project was a photo booth with Maine themed props made by the bride’s step-father.

Just like Sandy and Danny faced some challenges, Eva and Andrew didn’t go scot-free either.

“Finding housing for all [our] guests was challenging,” the two say. “Our advice is to start early and just offer suggestions. Beyond that, it is up to the guests.” 

The feeling of having everyone they love surrounding them paid off for the couple. In the end, being able to say “you’re the one that I want” in Maine couldn’t have been more perfect!
