Madeline and Polk said “I do” amidst the scenery of Colorado Springs in a wedding that offered elegance and fun surprises! Let’s peek into their special day and see how they created a destination wedding uniquely them.

Madeline and Polk’s met all the way back in middle school in their home city of Baton Rouge, but it wasn’t until 10th grade that romantic sparks flew. Now living in Dallas, they knew a destination wedding would be perfect for their spread-out families and their love for adventure.

Colorado’s stunning landscapes stole their hearts, and The Broadmoor, with its luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views, sealed the deal. “We loved the idea of an outdoor ceremony followed by a reception that seamlessly blended indoor and outdoor spaces,” Madeline shares. The Cheyenne Lodge’s rustic charm and mountain vistas would provide the perfect backdrop for their celebration.

“Our wedding planner, Nicole Cruse, was a lifesaver,” Madeline says. With Nicole’s expertise and The Broadmoor’s stellar service, planning from afar was a breeze. Two pre-wedding visits, including a food tasting, ensured everything felt perfect for their big day.

Their traditional ceremony officiated by Pastor Skip Banks was personalized with special moments of appreciation for their parents and a hand blessing ceremony. “We didn’t do a first look,” Madeline says, “so seeing each other walking down the aisle was pure magic.”

Their wedding cake topper, a set of Kewpie dolls used by Madeline’s great-grandparents in 1935, added a heartwarming family touch. But the real party started with a second line, a lively New Orleans tradition where the bride and groom lead guests in a joyous parade with handkerchiefs waving!

“A destination wedding allowed us to celebrate with a more intimate group,” the bride says. Their advice for couples planning their dream wedding? “Soak in every moment, enjoy the process, and remember, it’s all about celebrating your love!”
