As soon as Jazmin and Wayne heard wedding bells, they chose to marry in the tropical location of Montego Bay, Jamaica. The decision was easy because some of Wayne’s family members live there. Because the groom got the location he wanted, bride Jazmin took over the rest!

“Advice for all the grooms,” Jazmin says, “just say yes to everything.”

As the saying goes, “happy wife, happy life,” right? Well, whatever it is, the couple stayed relatively stress-free as Jazmin got to make her wedding dreams come true. She immediately began working with wedding planner Andrea Smith, whose experience and expertise helped the bride’s vision come to life.

There were several family members who knew they could not attend for financial reasons, but the couple quickly remedied that by having a small gathering for them at home. For those that could make it to the Jamaican wedding, the couple hired a travel agent for them to work with.

“Ateet from Travel Tom managed the travel logistics for most of our guests traveling from the United States, which was very helpful,” the couple says.

With guests taken care of, focus could go fully into contacting the right vendors to carry out the couple’s wishes. Jazmin communicated directly with vendors via email and scheduled a few calls to ensure logistics were smoothed out for the big day.

The vendor customization did come at a cost, however. “Our destination wedding was a little pricey because we didn’t use the vendors who were contracted through the hotel; we used outside vendors for photography, videography, DJ, lighting and décor.”

Any concerns about cost fell by the wayside when Wayne and Jazmin finally got to look into each other’s eyes and say “I do” amongst friends, family and the warm beaches of Jamaica.

At the end of it all, the couple suggests anyone interested in a destination wedding hire an on-site wedding planner and thoroughly read reviews for each vendor you may want to hire.

Logistics aside, nothing quite compares to strolling down a tropical beach at sunset hand-in-hand with the love of your life after a picturesque wedding.
