When Diane and Sean decided to say “I do,” they envisioned a destination wedding close to their Jacksonville roots, yet with a vibe that felt far away from the everyday. The picturesque, seaside Omni Amelia Island Resort about an hour from Jacksonville embodied the elegance and personality ideal for a garden wedding.
Enchanted Garden Vision
“We wanted guests to feel like they were transported to a magical place,” Diane shares. The Omni Amelia Island Resort’s outdoor ceremony space and its backup plan—essential for those unpredictable Florida showers—sealed the deal.
When it came to creating a personal haven for their special day, Diane and Sean worked closely with The Revel Co. to transform the venue with organic, sculptural floral arrangements, cascading greenery intertwined with chandeliers, and a reception space that felt intimate and homey.
The Day of Surprises
Like many couples, Diane and Sean encountered a curveball: rain threatened to dampen their outdoor ceremony. But their expert planner, Frankie from The Eventful Gals, alongside the rest of their incredible vendor team, worked swiftly to ensure their Plan A stayed intact. “Everyone wiped down chairs and reset the ceremony space so quickly,” Diane recalls. “It was even more special knowing how much effort went into making it perfect.”
Celebration Full of Heart
The couple’s reception at Walker’s Landing was all about making their guests feel involved and appreciated. They hosted a welcome party to kick things off, ensuring they could spend extra time with loved ones. On the big day, they made a point to visit every table during the reception to thank their guests personally.
Timeless Style and Thoughtful Details
Diane’s Rachel Ann Bridal gown perfectly complemented the enchanted theme, while Sean looked dashing in attire from Suit Supply. Their wedding party added to the elegant yet relaxed vibe with Birdy Grey dresses and tuxedos from The Black Tux.
A Couple Words of Advice
Looking back, Diane and Sean emphasized the importance of leaning on your support system, “like helping with welcome bags or picking up last-minute items.”
Their second piece of advice? “Take your time when making decisions, and don’t be afraid to cut things that no longer feel essential as the day gets closer.”
Diane and Sean’s Florida destination wedding at Omni Amelia Island Resort and Walker’s Landing may have started with a few raindrops, but it turned into an enchanted garden dream come to life.
